Hi...
In this video I wanted to share the popular V60 brewing method by the 2016 WBC winner Mr. Tetsu Kasuya (The 4 : 6 Method). The video will show about how I brew my coffee with this method with slightly different waiting time between each pours. I hope you enjoy the video and find it useful. Thank you and have a great coffee ^_^.

@@homealone831 I don't have the Kinto dripper, but from what I know this recipe can be used in most "V60" type dripper. I also use 4:6 method with my Cafec Flower dripper and the result is pretty consistent.

Great video, and really nice to see C2 being used since I have the same one! You mentioned 20 clicks - just wanting to clarify if that is 20 clicks from burrs closed, or burrs fully opened?
@hobby_coffee

Thank you, the C2 was great entry level grinder. The 20 clicks I mentioned in the video is from the closed position. 😃

Weird bro I did it a few moments ago and I have first some acid punch then fades back to the bitterness of coffee, like a kind of transition, IDK if this is the meaning of balanced but I'm loving it!!!!!!!!!!
@hobby_coffee
@hobby_coffee 5 ай бұрын
Well done 👍🏻😃 This balanced version is to get the sweetness at the beginning (a bit like candy) and followed by nice acidity and then bitter hint at the end. You can play with water temps or grind size (one at a time) to get the result that you prefer.

Hi mate, I see in your video that you use a Timemore Chestnut C2 Titanium version, am I right? Just wonder, is it still good to use until now? I am thinking to buy it since it has a lowest price than the Timemore Chestnut C3.

Hi, sorry for late reply, yes the C2 on this video is the version with titanium burr and I'm still using it mostly for pour over and sometimes also for mokapot. Compared to the C3, the Timemore C3 have slightly better uniformity but also produce a bit more fines than the C2, and for the taste there are no significant difference between C3 and C2.

@@hobby_coffee Thanks for the reply mate. Really appreciate it! I think I will take the C3.

Nice, the grind size could be a little coarser though.

Thank you 😁 and yes the grind size can be adjusted based on the roast level of the coffee beans.

Very pleasant! How many clicks in the Timemore?
@hobby_coffee
@hobby_coffee 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you In this video I'm using medium roasted coffee beans, and for the grind settings it was 20 clicks on Timemore C2, you can adjust the grind size depends on the coffee beans that you are using :-D

Nice Video but way to fine grind for Kasuya Recipe. Left a like anyway!🙌🏼

Thank you, I really appreciate it ^_^ True, Mr. Kasuya using coarser grind size in his recipe, but the grind size can be adjusted depends on the coffee beans and roast level, grind size will also affect how strong your cup of coffee that you prefer.

Thanks for the video, I do 30g of coffee (1/16 ratio) and I never get it to brew in 3 minutes, always take me 4, I though I was doing it wrong

Sorry for the late reply 🙏🏻 You're welcome, and it's okay to brew a little bit longer since you used more coffee and different ratio, the point of this 4:6 method is you can easily adjust any part of the brewing process to get the best result of the coffee that you like. Have a great coffee :-)

This timemore c2 is the old one or the new one with upgrade?

This Timemore C2 Advanced is basically the same as the Timemore C2 2nd version with the only differences are the color and the burr sets that was titanium coated.

4:6 คือไรครับ เอามาให้ทำใบงาน
@hobby_coffee
@hobby_coffee 8 ай бұрын
Hi, sorry for late reply 🙏🏻 So 4:6 is the method developed by Mr. Tetsu Kasuya by dividing the total brew into 2 parts, the first part is "4" and the second part is "6". The "4" part is to control sweetness and acidity, it's done by dividing the "4" into another 2 parts. The first part is for the blooming process, and the second part is the first pour. The "6" part is to control the overall brew strength, if you want stronger coffee you can divide the "6" into more part (2, 2, 2), or if you want less strong coffee you can divide the "6" into less part (3, 3). In the video the total brew was 300 mL, so the "4" part is 120 mL and the "6" part is 180 mL. For the balanced result the easiest way is to divide each part into the same amount, so the blooming process and the first pour will be 60 mL each(120 divided by 2), and the second pour until the last pour also 60 mL each (180 divided by 3). Hope that helps, and thanks for watching. Have a great coffee 😁
