I know I'm really late but a weird thing I recently learned about the strange translation/localization in the game is that it's actually backwards. As in the dubbed japanese in inaccurate and the English and Chinese text in the intended message. The Japanese translation added a lot of words randomly and it wasn't noticed until after the voice acting was finished. Would've been great to come sooner but I just found this out.

29:46 Not to break the immersion of Super Mario Frustration, but the original was voiceless from some Japanese site and the comedic spiel was neatly crafted and added in subsequently, in case this is news. I recall stumbling across the footage and was like "wait, where are all the funny monologuing? Was it all faked?!" which makes me remember, that most of the memorable, as well quotable stuff from the past, was carefully planned/staged. Stuff like the angry WoW kid, etc... Still, a lot of fun. 45:21 The most hype I was in Lotus Eaters was the confirmation and canonization of human-form Orin twin cat tails (bonus points for flaming tips) from official, non-spinoff works. The most hype I was in Detective Satori was the canonization of Kyouko tail, from official, non-spinoff works... Aww yeah! More Tevi! I really like Tevi, but not as much as I like PC98 characters. PC98 characters are the best, and are so much better than ESOD characters. Mima is cute and adorable, but Remilia is lame. PC98 is the best.
