I'm startled when I see just how talented Tevin was/is. Nothing was too hard for him to do. He could sing, dance, etc. at such a young age. I think his talent exceed everyone expectations. I'm sorry we have missed seeing/hearing/enjoying him for so many years.

This era, the 90s, will never be surpassed. This video, and that movie cemented the aliveness, the humanity of my generation. When I listen to the current generation I’m blown away by their extreme lack of self-love and soul. The joy of being black is blatantly missing in the artistry today. It’s incredibly noticeable.

Tevin Campbell in his prime was a STONE-COLD 🥶performer. When I was a kid and teenager (the early to late 1990s), his music was everywhere. Back in his prime, girls and grown women loved him 💋, R&B and pop music labels loved him or wanted to sign him, and etc.

I was 6 years old when this came out, and likely haven't heard it since around that time, but I remember every last note, lyric, and instrumental arrangement. The early 90s were a special time. And Might I add, I had absolutely no business watching this movie when I was a kid. Left quite an impression. 😖I can't think of a time when I was as stressed out as I was in that theater. 🤣

This album came out about 7-8 months before I went to basic training. I snuck this tape, Pete Rock and CL Smooth's Mecca and the Soul Brother and Al B. Sure's Sexy Verses to basic training with me and my walkman. One of my drill sergeants finally busted me with it around week 7 of training. None of my platoon mates ratted. 💯loyalty 1992.

How fun. TC is an outstanding entertainer. I almost forgot about this song. Seeing this also reminded me the "6-degrees of separation" is true, someone in the vid makes my levels of separation from Tevin decrease by at least 4, perhaps 5 levels. Small world. Mr. Campbell's "Safer On The Ground" like everything else he does, is awesome.
