I think a good mechanic would be when you upgrade the monkey you have a lower chance at lower rarities, so when it's maxed you can't get common or rares anymore. Either that or being able to upgrade your luck like with the upgrade monkey. And maybe add a warning system for exotic or higher rarity so you don't accidentally skip over something good.

Idea: Pity system where once you unlock legendary you can roll 100 times and you get legendary, mythic you roll 500 times and get mythic and no pity for legendary, exotic you roll 750 and get it no mythic and legendary pity.
