You have to remember that during the continuous war, most of his service was outside of snow areas. His unit served primarily in the deep and dense forests of Finland/the Northern Soviet Union fighting against Soviet Partisans and Elite Recon Teams (at the time known as Spetsnaz) Also while they have not verified it, his grave is in the Arlington National Cemetery - the only ex-SS member to ever be so (and yes there have been people who have demanded his grave be tossed out due to this but the US military just says “f-off” to such things)

Helo identified. His Swedish k matches. Dna of the rest of the crew verified. Found european teeths which sort of matched or matched to the dental charts.

they only recovered some weapons that they had been using and some remains and helicopter crash debris, i am not sure of any DNA. they say they found it and maybe they did. still he has name in Arlington and their headstone in there at least.
