hi i'm a Belgian and there has been a few more songs about the belgian territory like screaming eagles about bastogne, the price of a mile in passchendale, thats in ypres, the christmas truce was a big part in Belgium, resist and bite about the chasseurs ardennais, even the unkillable soldier was born in Brussels, Belgium has a realy big war history, even hitler was stationed here during the great war, as i am not mistaken Belgium has been frontline troughout all of the great war, the Belgians never wanted to be, but laying between France and Germany, our people had no choice, so thanks to sabaton for not forgetting our little tiny country over here...

I love the line.. A king and his soldiers, fighting shoulders to shoulders and the solo is badass. King Albert wasnt the only royal who served. His wife worked with the nurses and their 12 year old son Leopold enlisted in the Belgian army as a private. Badass family!

King Albert 1, did fight with the Soldiers and his Wife Queen Elisabeth was a Nurse at the Frontline. Because of this he was often referred to as Soldier King.

Resist and bite is about a small groip of Belgium soldiers defendidg, or trying to defend the Belgian borders, the unit didnt recieve the order to retreat, so they did fight 40 men vs a much larger number of attackers, for a week or so, they held the border, but finally was captured.. Another great song where events are happening in Belgium (not exactly about belgian resistance but still relevant) is Screaming Eagles. It is about the battle of Bastogne. Great subject matter and even greater music, highly recommended.

The Race To The Sea is about the flooding of a Belgian river after the battle of the Yser, they did this to escape the German army's march, the Germans could not breach through 1 mile of water, the Germans could not attack via ocean, because of the British Royal Navy. After the Germans got out of most of Belgium, they drained the river and helped fight back.#Context Edit, Yes indeed the Belgian army raced the Germans to the sea.

I wrote with Sabaton because I love the song and video but was also horrified for the instruments and the equipment. They answered 'yeah, they were a bit soggy afterwards'😂
