The feet first slide is wholly an accepted act for the quarterbacks to protect themselves from hard hits as runners. Passed the line of scrimmage, nearing the first down marker, sliding as late as possible puts yourself at risk. Either protect yourself or be a runner but you can't have it both ways. @shaker02712 сағат бұрын
It’s not pathetic! And you are are completely a hypocrite in your arguement. It was not a dirty hit…just a late hit…and a late slide from Trevor.I am sick of people like you who are completely bias and stupid that should not have an opinion. The league doesn’t care about all their QBs- they care about their marketed QBs and it’s clear. These QBs need to get down or absorb the hit. This sliding is making football boring. Brady and Brees can take a hit….Trevor can never stay healthy - wasting money on a has been. If Trevor absorbed the hit instead of sliding, the hit would have been legal based on trajectory. Offensive players like the QB need to slide sooner and the ball carriers need to stop diving there head down. QBs need to lead their receivers better to prevent injuries. Most injuries to receivers is due to the QBs placement Stop blaming the defense when the defense is being held back while the offensive can literally do anything and everything.i am good to give you an example. If Kenny Pickett didn’t fake slide…he would have been laid out….howver, the defenses did not hit him or touch him cause he went into the act of sliding. QBs cannot slide or pull out whenever they want…they need to have caution. If Trevor didn’t hesitate, the hit would be legal.

Am I wrong in that, and what nobody's talking about, is that he could have EASILY jumped over Lawrence in that situation? You are gearing up to make the hit, then the guy drops, but you've already committed to a tackle, just jump over him or to the side? The other thing, and McAfee brought it up, I think it ascorbates the situation with the "fake" slides QBs use to juke. I don't think QBs should be allowed to fake their slide, which makes the situation worse, because if Lawrence faked his slide and Al-Shaair gave up the play, then Lawrence. runs around him is bad too.

So the question remains. Why didn't he slide earlier? Matter fact, why didn't he stop mid-slide? I mean, somehow, all defenders are expected to maintain control over their bodies even while being blocked or falling, so why can't a QB somehow stop himself mid-slide? That's sarcasm, but also serious cuz the league and ppl like you expect a person to not hit someone even tho they've already begun the motion to do so, and everyone is moving upwards of 20mph. By sliding late, Trevor put the defender in a position where he can either break down and get ready to hit him or stand straight up and let Trevor run over or run by him. You can't put defenders in a position to have to make split-second decisions like that, it's gonna end ugly every time. History tells us that. Yet ppl like you keep blaming defenders for not wanting to protect a QB they are paid to hit. The QB's protection is not his responsibility, and I'm not gonna pretend like it is just to save face cuz be politically correct. You'd know the physics if you'd played the sport, it's impossible to stop your momentum once it's going but hey let's all pretend like physics don't exist cuz the NFL can't afford to get sued for lying again.

I hope they keep that same energy when it's their player or Qb gets their ball rung because whoever does it will say "what about Azeeez, he did it..."
