They actually scored 12 points in the final 31.1 seconds. Describing it as "down 12 points with 44 seconds to go", doesn't quite do this comeback justice.

ChiTownWarrior1 I understand, but what I'm saying is that they spent 13 seconds on getting the first 2 points of their 14-2 run. They scored the final 12 points with only 3/4th of that original time left.

+Cooper Emmott the way that UNI lost, trying to throw the ball off of defenders 94 feet from their basket (twice!!) is an embarrassment to basketball.
@SweetTop7s
@SweetTop7s 8 жыл бұрын
+Cooper Emmott Agreed. The TRUE best basketball comeback would have to be the Tracy McGrady 13 points in 35 seconds game, with the Rockets down 10 points to the Spurs with a minute left but ended the game on a 17-6 run to win in regulation. The Rockets run wasn't necessarily caused by a Spurs collapse, it was more just T-Mac shooting out of his mind in making 4 3-pointers in that last minute, some of which were very difficult and one of which was a 4-point play.
@blairquinney214
@blairquinney214 8 жыл бұрын
Sweet7s We could argue the point forever. We could team up by nation and continent and all argue the point FOREVER. All in all it would mean nothing more than opinion and mean nothing more significant that doth any given "topic" "argued" by the overpaid mindless bimboes of The View. In the end it will be THIS (A&M-UNI) comeback that will be screened by coaches of multiple sports for years to come. No basketball coach (not on LSD at the moment) is going to tell his players to "just start shooting 3's like T-Mac did out the whazoo".

+John E Sports fans are funny. Those of some sports more than others. Everyone loves it when a Boise State rises up to contend in college football, but it seems like half of America think the Yankees are supposed to win every world series. College Basketball is definitely clique-ish. If Duke or Kentucky or North Carolina had pulled off this comeback then only a select handful of buttholes would be saying, "No, NIU choked." Since a football school from the football state did so not only those of this peanut gallery but those overpaid idiots on TV are focusing on the (inherent) aspect that is the choke. If A&M manages to win it all this year then only a few of these haters would migrate. A&M would have to win at least 2 more natty's in the next 8 years for history to accurately accept the nature of this reality and the reality of this occurrence. Perception is a fascinating component of psychology.

Horrible coaching and inexperienced players are to blame for UNI's collapse. With 11 seconds left, UNI inbounds the ball. ALL #11 NEEDS TO DO IS HOLD IT FOR 10 SECONDS THEN CHUCK IT DOWN COURT. Idiot turns around and tries to throw it off opponents. Didn't matter he was in the corner. THEY WERE IN THE LEAD. Hold the ball and eventually he gets fouled or time runs out.

Man, that #Number4 defense is non-existant. Gave away 8 points on his own.

Agreed. The Iowa game will be 2nd in the records book as far as largest deficit overcome with under a minute remaining, but there's a big difference between how UNI played and how MSU played in the final stages. Hawkeyes scored 23 points while MSU scored 10 points in the last 90 seconds, with MSU going 10-12 from the FT line in that span. They were just trading 2s for 3s and there was just enough time.
