Nope. They had TOP, nearly 30 more plays, and Texas whiffed on 2 kicks. The o-line injuries for Texas hurt the running game. The officiating was typical b10 bad, with inconsistency, failure to call illegal man (2) downfield on TD plays, and pulling skat forward for a TD, an OPI called DPI. Heck there were several generous spots for ASU.

The ASU coach left his DB's exposed on that 4th and long. Texas saw the zero blitz, took their time adjusting blocks and routes. The ASU coach had 6 to 8 seconds to see that his blitz play call was exposed and call a timeout to regroup with a different play. He failed to do so. That is a coaching failure, his blitzers were stacked up over the "A" gap, which after Texas adjusted blocks, it became a bottleneck. With that said, the no call on the targeting against ASU was criminal, and rightly leads people to believe that the Big 10 and SEC are colluding to keep the Big 12 and ACC down until they collapse. The SEC seems pretty mediocre nowadays, and it will need to absorb some of the ACC schools to get back on top.

Bad early special teams with the running into the kicker and not defending the fake punt. Those extended drives also. Targeting was obvious. We know it, you know it, and they knew it. But with UGA banged up, there was a real risk that the SEC would have been eliminated entirely, and that had the CFB powers that be terrified. CFB also wants to see things evolve to 4 Power Conferences instead of 5, so they will do anything to diminish the "lesser conferences", aka the Big 12, the ACC and the Pac 10. The fix was in. And mark my words, CFB will do everything they can to consolidate things into a Power 4 schematic and the playoffs will revolve around that...each conference having their own 4 team playoff, all centrally managed to assure revenue flows to the top. Then a 4 team final. Some kind of special arrangement will be made for Notre Dame, perhaps a loose affiliation without actual membership.

Trophy case the last 3 decades tells a different story. Maybe the NIL has ended the era of pure Dixie Domination but all the talent still comes from down here it’s just more northern schools can poach it now, But to get your ass handed to you for 3 decades and to have 2 good years and act like that last 3 decades didn’t happen is really something to behold, yankee hubris knows no limits you’d think the Big 10 had been dominant the last 30 years instead of the South’s whipping boy they way yankees talk. But hey yall are winning this year so I guess bragging rights come with it go ahead and have your moment

Skattabo is impressive COLLEGE running back, look forward to his arrogant punk personality to get fixed in the pros. Johnny Manzel all over again ...

Nice job by the Big ten officials not calling the obvious targeting call
@vol662 күн бұрын
agreed. That targeting should have stood and the game would have been over. The refs gave that game to Texas over that call.

They had to look out for the SEC when they were having trouble with the Big 12 team. What a joke. They trash how bad ASU was and then escape with the help of the refs. Either Texas isn't as good as they said or ASU was better
