Sheriffs in Illinois said they wouldn’t enforce the FOID card decades ago when it was passed. That didn’t last long. They also all said they wouldn’t enforce the recent AW & magazine bans as well. Don’t have any hope for them to stick to that. If the new federal bill is illegal by the constitution then a state should be able to ignore the law without any consequences. If owning or selling drugs is illegal, state and federal, and I ignore the law I get fined and jailed.
