at 1:15 you can hear them say: "I'll take this load and come back and get another one" "Yeah 'ta bueno'" [Yeah that's good] (in spanish) So they at least speak some spanish to go with their faint chicano accent.

These guys are awesome. I've lived through Allison, Alicia, Ike, and now Harvey. You don't feel like the city is recovering until the debris disappears. These guys are a huge help.

Why can't we pay half of what we pay our politicians to civil servants (garbage men, police, postal workers) We at least see a return on our money

So sad, especially for those without flood insurance. I purchased flood insurance years ago even though they claim i don't live in a flood-risk area. I'd rather pay the $450 per year for the peace-of-mind of knowing i got some back-up, just in case!

Most of the garbage is contaminated (lots of sewer flooding) so a lot of stuff can't be recycled even if it was recyclable before the storm

Loony Hurricane Harvey caused the flooding of homes, etc. Then 2 reservoirs did controlled release of water that also flooded neighborhoods like this one mentioned. Kingwood is 3 miles north of me and it flooded bad. Parts of my neighborhood flooded too.

@fakename287
@fakename287 7 жыл бұрын
Loony yeah, since it's damaged and filled with mold and sewer water it's not a very good idea to keep it inside of your house, it's brought outside next to the street so that the garbagemen can pick it up

I went down to Harlingen tx. Went down to the beaches. I was appalled. The people who are on the beach party eat and leave they're garbage right there. Even if there are garbage barrels. If I lived down there I would be on the 4 wheeler everyday collecting the garbage. How can we clean the oceans when people put it in faster then you can take it out. Of course big business has a lot to do with to. Bad enough its on our planet but now its all around our planet. Should be BIG BIG fines. And now they want go to Mars. WAKE UP PEOPLE.

idk about you but I do see women working as garbagemen (garbagepeople?) in my neighborhood (outside of houston) it's not many but they're there. and fyi most ment don't want to be part of this industry either, it's part of the reason why those few who do become garbagemen get payed pretty well (relatively speaking)
