Absolutely true. I’m a Baylor fan, and watching Texas over the last 10 years, the very thing that made Texas mediocre was the fact that they had no hustle, no scrappiness. You went into every game knowing Texas had the most elite players, but we ended up laughing at them because there was absolutely no discipline or drive to win. From a pure talent standpoint, they should’ve been winning the Big 12 every single year. But then they would literally go 5-7. No longer. This is a team that has the dudes AND, more importantly, plays like they don’t have the dudes. They play like they need to go out there and earn it. Amazing to see that culture shift over the past few years.

1. As a Longhorns fan, it is always great winning, especially against a rival like Oklahoma. 2. However, the 34 points Texas scored against Oklahoma should have been at least 51. Texas should have scored at least 2 more touchdowns. Bert Auburn should have also converted the relatively short field goal he missed 2 times, since Oklahoma called a time out after the first missed attempt. 3. Texas absolutely has to play more consistent and take better advantage of opportunities on offense, especially when they have the ball in the red zone. 4. I was definitely pleased with the Texas defense against Oklahoma. What stood out most was that Oklahoma rushed the ball 38 times for 91 yards and a 2.4 yards per carry average. The Texas run defense was absolutely dominant against Oklahoma. 5. Texas might have also found a Running Back that can be more of a focus running the ball, in Tre Wisner. Texas ran the ball 30 times for 177 yards and a 5.9 yards per carry average. Texas needs to rush for 200+ yards every game, considering how dominant their Offensive Line is. Doing that will make the passing offense even that much better. 6. Texas should remain the number 1 ranked team in the nation. Most important, they are the best team in the nation, based on how things have materialized so far this season. "Hook Em"

@@stout8807 Whether Coach Sarkisian's play calls are conservative or aggressive, the Longhorns need to consistently be effective and successful in executing those play calls. I don't think the team was consistently effective and successful executing the play calls that were conservative or aggressive. Also, Quinn Ewers recovered well enough to start and play the entire game, so his health should not have been a factor in his success yesterday. I don't necessarily agree with the view about rust, coming off an injury. Ewers practiced for Texas during the bye week and the Oklahoma week. I think he was prepared to play a great game and I think he was healthy enough to play a great game. I just think he was not effective early in yesterday's game, similar to him not being effective early in last season's Oklahoma game. "Hook Em"

The Longhorns' offense was hiccupping and should have scored 51, if they had reached that in the 4th quarter Sark would have taken his foot off the gas so no top players are injured and we don't need to show Georgia more schemes to defend against next week. Just love the hustle of Silas.

After the first quarter hiccup, Texas gained 393 yards and scored 34 points in the last 3 quarters. That translates to 524 yards and 45 points for a full game. The Texas D doesn't get enough chops, but they held OU to 2.6 yards per rush, below 5 yards per pass attempt and 26 % on 3rd down. The real deal on both sides of the ball. You asked what did we learn? You all learned what TX always been saying....OU SUCKS! OU has a pretty good defense but it was overblown and that showed. TX defense had the better stats going into this game and we can see they were legit. People were trying to clown on TX for "struggling" with Miss State and they just scored 31 on Georgia? TX held them to 13 and still won by 22. I assume everyone will properly clown on GA for that or maybe Miss State isn't as bad as their record shows which again reflects well on the TX defense and the TX team in general. OU's biggest issue IMO is that coaching staff. What a god awful offensive plan that was for their offense after 2 weeks of preparation. That was putrid. It looks like OU is in the middle of their Charlie Strong era. BV looks like a good DC in over his head as HC. Good luck with that.

I really don’t understand Quinn. That first quarter was putrid. I don’t think it was rust. He’s done this twice before, coming back after missing a few games, and dominated. He’s played in the RR game twice already, how can he be nervous? Him blatantly overthrowing and missing Bond on two plays (one of which would’ve been an easy deep ball touchdown right down the middle) is something else entirely. That’s not rust, that’s just extremely bad awareness. It’s almost like he seemed nervous to throw. Like he was testing out his oblique? He practiced for two weeks… but you don’t get hit in practice. Maybe he was scared of getting hit in the first, or nervous he would aggravate his injury making a simple throw and it messed with his head early on?!? Something was way WAY off in that first quarter. Even afterwards, a lot of his completions were simple checkdowns or simple throws to the sideline and let the WR do all the work. Not a whole lotta throws that require more force and more torque (longer distance throws). Seems like he’s not totally 100% and he’s keeping it a secret. MATTHEW GOLDEN, a receiver, had more deep ball attempts than Ewers the whole game. That can’t be a coincidence.

@CrimsonUniverse22
@CrimsonUniverse22 12 сағат бұрын
@@drm2364 He’s done it twice before and played waaay better when he returned from injury the last two times. Something was way off yesterday. Completely missing WIDE open receivers from like 15-20 yards away isn’t rust, because like Quinn said, he’s been practicing for two weeks now, throwing to those same receivers. That’s a complete mental issue and being affected mentally, which causes profound loss of focus (and thus mechanics and technique being badly affected). See: Carson Beck in the first half against Alabama. I’m sticking by it. Quinn isn’t 100% healthy, and likely FEARED throwing long passes (requiring more upper body muscle activation) pretty much the whole game, because he was scared he might re-aggravate the injury. Remember, the injury wasn’t a contact injury. He initially got injured by simply throwing a pass against UTSA. I think he got scared any throw could just hurt it again.
@Bones12x2
@Bones12x2 10 сағат бұрын
Agreed, rust isn't a thing for a 3rd year starter only missing two games. Thats no excuse. Rust also doesn't account for bad technique. He had happy feet, bad release, late on reads, and hesitated on when to step up and it lasted will into the third quarter. Even with rust, it should be gone before half time. I don't want to have a controversy but Arch would have scored 50+ yesterday

It’s amazing how what Texas has done is being diluted to underachievement? Texas is choking folks out, and OU was just another victim. People wants 50/60 point outputs, why? Their winning differential is ridiculous compared to everyone else in this conference alone. Teams can’t score on the LONGHORNS SO FAR. I doubt this continues all season but, you gotta realize this defense is special. You have start believing that this offense has just what it may take to accomplish greatness this season. The ingredients look formidable. Would we say Tennessee is ranked too high? Weeks ago until now, they were taken serious in rankings. Or better yet, what other team in the SEC that’s not allowing opponents to score much every game this year? Miss St scored 31 on Georgia. The differential was 10 points. Remember Texas vs Miss St score? I remember one commenter said, “We can’t forget we were talking about Miss St.” I remember a comment was, “ Michigan must not be very good.” Well, ok, let’s see where the chips fall. I see a masterful display of football becoming the Longhorns trademark this season. It’s beginning to look very similar to what we’ve seen Satan do consistently for years at Bama. Not saying Texas can’t continue this level of dominance in the remainder of this season, but you gotta see how impressive it’s been so far.

I keep seeing posts saying that we can't or shouldn't change the OC or the scheme in the middle of the season. I understand the logic but I'm not sure it applies here. Why? Are we going to alienate our 5 star QB? Is our O-line play going to drop off? Will we be teaching new plays to the players (already happening with 5 WRs down), Is there a chance we won't be putting up significant points to win a game? Already there obviously. I'm just not seeing the problem with getting a jump on taking the O-side down to the studs so we have SOME hope going into Fall '25.

It is valid to say that Texas has not played any elite offenses but Michigan has been able to score close to 30 on almost everyone else, MSU scored 31 on Georgia. Texas has only given up 3 touchdowns in 6 games and one of those was garbage time. I don't care who you play, when your average pts given up per game is single digits after 6 games including a road game in Michigan and a game against your rival on a neutral site, thats elite. Georgia almost gave up as many point to MSU as Texas has given up all season. All that being said, I expect Georgia to test them but part of the teams you play having bad offensive rankings is because you gave them that ranking.

Seems like OU is still trying to find the bottom of this hole they are digging. Considering at the 3 points they managed to score, maybe it's time to hit the reset button and look at the offensive coaching situation. If something doesn't happen quick the transfer portal is going to be a red flow away from OU at the end of the season.

OU fan here & to the victor goes the spoils. Congrats to them. Not sure I’d be beating my chest after watching that one. OU’s offense is awful. Having starting receivers back might have helped a little but wouldn’t have changed it much. When Tx was only rushing 3 they got pressure & got it quick. Offense line is terrible. Our tight end blocking is non existent. Running backs can’t make anyone miss. Defensively OU was solid in the first quarter and that’s about it. Poor tackling has shown its head in a couple of games now and that’s concerning. QB play was ok considering what he’s dealing with. I don’t think changing to Arnold would have been any different. I think you could have stuck Tom Brady in and he’d been running for his life too. I’m a huge fan of Coach Venables but he better get something figured out offensively or his popularity in Norman will fizzle.

@@notpoliticaljustarealist3969 #2 in the CFP? Nah, the most favorable route to the national championship is either #1 or #5 seeds. The #1 seed or whoever is the highest remaining seed in each round after the first round home games gets first choice of game location. A #1 Texas would either choose New Orleans (Sugar Bowl) or Glendale (Fiesta Bowl) in the quarterfinals depending on who the #5/#12 winner. However, if Texas were #5, in the first round, we'd be likely playing either the G5 conference champ or Big 12 Champ. I like our chances winning that game in the first ever home CFP game. The quarterfinals will either be G5 or Big 12 Champ in Fiesta Bowl. Either way I like our chances in the first two rounds as a #5 seed. The only downside of #5 is that you don't get a choice of bowl location in the semi-final round unless the higher seeds all lose in the quarters. Assuming #1 to 3 advance to the semis, #1 has to make the decision to play #5 Texas either in Miami (Orange Bowl) or Dallas (Cotton Bowl). You know #1 Oregon or whoever is in that spot would not choose to play Texas in a virtual home game for the Horns. All that to say, the best spot to be is either #1 or #5 in the CFP for Texas.
