@@crazysaucey your not wrong that the lack of a run game meant a lot more than should be landed on Ewers’ shoulders. By that doesn’t change that he had trouble making much happen over much of the game, was very lucky there was only 1 interception, and had to rely heavily on the defense to bail him out. That being said I agree he gets more shit than he deserves, and when he absolutely had to make a play he delivered quite a few times in the game. Which is a crucial talent for a QB to have, but shouldn’t be as necessary as it has been this season. Definitely feel like Texas wins in spite of Ewers sometimes. I don't think Sark completely trusts him and Ewers always seems like he's just winging it out there. How many times are you going to under throw a deep pass before you realize you need to step into the deep throws? Texas has a championship defense for sure but they get hung out to dry by an offense that sputters way too often. I don't know if that is all Ewers or if Sark puts training wheels on the offense but if you don't trust Ewers to run your offense then get someone else to be the starter. If you swapped Leavitt into Ewers' QB role this game would not have been close.

One comment about targeting--incidental or inadvertent contact is not targeting even if it's rough, and that seems to mean that targeting requires intent. And the reason for that is that football wants to eliminate intending to hurt but not to eliminate rough contact. I'd guess that the review looked at that issue in deciding it wasn't targeting.
@davidhart12126 күн бұрын

Im not too worried about how well Ohio State is playing and they are playing lights out. No doubt but i know we can be better. We can dominate for 3 quarters or a half then we just slack off I guess. Im not sure. We have to do it for 4 quarters. We have to stay locked in the whole game. If we do that then absolutely we can beat Ohio State. I don't look at Ohio State as this unbeatable team though they are playing like it. Ohio State is good in a lot of areas and Texas is good in a lot of ereas. We have to take away what they do well and try to make them throw. Our corners and safeties are always tight on the receivers. I know Ohio State wants to take away the run game and force Ewers to beat them. We have to run the ball way better than we did against Arizona State. That was shocking. Anyway. I can't wait. I see very little chance of TX beating OSU in the next round. They just can't get their act together. Penalties and bad decisions confound this team. The offensive line may have several high NFL draft picks, but they run block very poorly. It's almost as if they need a new O-line coach. Also Sark refuses to play call to Ewers strengths. Ewers is excellent at short to mid ball, but not good at deep balls, yet Sark continues to dial them up. All the slow developing and east-west plays will not work on OSU b/c they're just as fast as TX. I almost see it as the JV team with talent playing the varsity team.

it wasn’t targeting. it was “incidental contact”: Taaffe was not intentionally leading with his head. also it did not involve the crown of the helmet. ON THE OTHER HAND! NCAA RULE 9-3-2B is CLEAR: “a teammate can not grasp pull or lift the ball carrier to assist in forward progress.” There was no clearer violation of that rule in the history of college football than when ASU’s O-lineman LIFTED SCATTEBO OVER THE GOAL LINE FOR A SCORE. That ASU score was a complete foul and should have been recalled.

UT offensive game plan was piss poor, and they played extremely lackluster. Vs OSU if the boyz don’t come out gate on Super Sayian mode unfortunately UT gets killed. Wishing for the best tho 🤘🏽.

By calling more penalties, mostly ticky tack ones, on Texas and in more critical moments? Also go back and try to find the last time a Texas defensive lineman has drawn a holding penalty. And they get held more than any other team I’ve seen cuz that’s the only way that opposing offensive lines can deal with those absolute animals. Texas has not recently, 4+ yrs, been the on the good end of lopsided officiating. And one last thing, all officiating is ass at this point. A group of random guys that can sway a game one way or another that have no accountability, doesn’t seem like a good thing to me.
@hayleyboehm564927 күн бұрын
Maybe it’s just time everyone realizes that Texas just may not be the best team out there, and ASU is significantly better than what the media thinks. ASU wins that game if they have even somewhat competent play-calling in the red zone. If any ONE of all those 4th down attempts were successful, ASU wins. ASU beat themselves in the red zone.
@williebates339826 күн бұрын
Those fourth down stuffs by Texas was exactly that so cope a little better. Like they say if you can't get a yard you don't deserve to win.

@williebates339826 күн бұрын
So three fourth down stuffs by Texas against your boy scattebo were because of the refs? Lmfao! Get over it my guy that one call is not why you lost. The refs didn't call your offensive tackle for suplexing your boy over the goal line after his forward progress was clearly stopped. They didn't call scattebo for pushing off down the sideline to set up the touchdown. They didn't call targeting on the hit Isaiah Bond took when he was clearly hit in the head and neck area only. You should really be thanking Texas kicker for the two shanks in regulation to even get to overtime. Facts

It literally, by definition of the rule is not targeting. he didn't leverage by coming off his feet, he didn't use the crown, he didn't intentionally aim for the head and neck. He planted, he had his head up, and the other player came down onto him making mask to mask contact. Same thing with the later reversed targeting call in the endzone.

To say that wasn’t targeting is nuts. You can say you don’t want them calling it to decide the game. But that’s clear as day targeting. And what’s interesting about OSU being a 5.5 point favorite? Texas just struggled with Arizona state.

@ hit a defenseless player in the neck and head area. And he did lead with his crown. Just didn’t launch which doesn’t matter because the player was still defenseless. We can find loopholes all day. Analysts thought it was targeting as well.
