Texas has recruited well on its O-Line. We have some talented guys ready to step up and replace the 4 offensive lineman we lost to the NFL draft. The early belief is that Trevor Goosby plays LT, Neto Umeozulu at LG, Cole Hutson at C, DJ Campbell continues to play RG and 5 Star Brandon Baker at RT. But we have plenty of guys behind them that will be pushing these guys for the starting role in the Spring and we could still bring in some added O-line depth through the transfer portal as well so I think we’ll be fine.

Texas vs Ohio State was the best matchup of the playoff bracket. I think Texas is more established early in 2025, it might give them the edge in Columbus.

As a Buckeye fan it makes me apprehensive to have a QB with such little experience in this matchup. Felt the same way about Stroud though and that worked out.

I know Penn State is loaded but until they get better at the wide receiver position I can't see them getting over the top. They need to be able to consistently drive the ball down the field in the passing game. They seem to always play great defense and run the ball well but where is the elite receiver group.

I think Drew Allar is really overrated, but I think Penn State will be super good next year, both running backs coming back and always have a great defense. I think if Allar can step it up they'll be a great team.

Allar needs a lot of practice reps with the receivers. He developed a throw it up for grabs habit with Tyler Warren.

Everyone says "you'll just reload" but man today's tOSU roster was built to win a NC. So much experience is leaving out on a high. Texas is iffy ...Arch Manning ...we haven't seen enough. There's a reason why the Buckeyes brought in a veteran QB. Relying a kid that's never played the majority of downs all season is a brave bet.

@@nickkyyaNo one has a problem with OSU not being 1, the problem is Penn State being at 1. Who cares if they’re doing what OSU and UM did? They don’t have the talent in the trenches that UM had, or the talent on the perimeter OSU does. And more importantly, they still have Allar and Franklin.

Penn state may have experience but they are not bringing back 5 star after 5 star like ohio state did. Allar is 3 steps below McCarthy and 5 below Howard. Could I see them knocking off an oregon or OSU in the regular season? Sure. Do I see them winning 3-4 straight in the playoff if they don't get another cupcake draw? No.

I get the idea of having experience return. The problem is that some of that experience is Allar who I think PSU won a lot of games in spite of, not because of him. Also Allen leaving is probably going to hurt.

Penn st in a 4 team playoff could win the natty like Michigan did but in a 12 team playoff it’s way harder to win natty but way easy to stay relevant by making the playoffs

I usually don't find many flaws in Joel's analysis, but I do with his putting OSU at #3. Defenses are getting increasing more sophisticated. Lack of experience can't be made up by raw talent anymore.

Copying Ohio State and Michigan doesn’t mean you will do what they did if you aren’t the caliber of program they are. Penn State’s ceiling went from 11-1 losing to OSU to 11-1 losing to OSU.

We will see. OSU recruits amazingly well and a lot of young players got great play time this year. O line, WR, Corners & TE are going to be better. It depends if OSU can get great play from DE, RB, SS & young 5 star QB Julian Sayin
