Welcome to the 10th episode of the Texas Plinking 1 MOA At 1,000 Yards Challenge. A monthly video series where I let 5 fans come out with their equipment and attempt to shoot a 10" gong at 1,000 yards in under 10 shots. If they hit it, they can use their remaining shots on the 5" gong. The 10" gong is worth 10 points and goes down 1 point after every shot. The 5" gong is worth 20 points and goes down 2 points after every shot. Once both are hit, the challenge is complete and each unfired round is an additional point. New episodes go live on the 1st Monday of every month!

Zach is the real deal, dude is always humble too. Going out there with what most would describe as a "less than ideal setup" for shooting 1 moa at 1,000 yards and just making it happen. Thought for sure he was going to get a hit on that 5" the way he was painting around it.

Thats is a very unrealistic number even with an AR. 2k or less I can see possible. Your $1500 or less barely gets an optic let alone one you can see the dang target that for out. Be somewhat realistic. Not saying its not possible but your borderline garage sale shopping to make it happen. Now that I think about it my AR-10 might make the cut. The scope it has might be rough LPVO 1-10, but the 10 power is not perfect. A true spotter might be able to guide in the shot by adjustment callouts.
@calebdean2440
@calebdean2440 9 ай бұрын
@1014p Completey disagree if I guy has done this with a Mosin and a pretty generic scope. There are several sub $600 .270s and 6.5s on the market which leaves plenty on the table for an optic.

hell yeah, didn't realize you only had a low magnification on that M82, would love to see you try to make adjustments off of a proper 5-25 or larger zoom scope, even though its well inside the cone of accuracy. Having my own M82, I know the fun that it can be, and how bad the groups can be with machine gun ball too.
@SigmaBallistics
@SigmaBallistics 9 ай бұрын
not only is the extra magnification completely unnecessary on a 2 moa rifle, the decrease in FOV would make spotting the impacts harder than it already is with the recoil and muzzle blast.

I like Zach's Wyoming ball cap. It gives him an advantage over all the other shooters. Poor Matt... I've had those days myself when you dance all around the target but not one of them will connect. Of course Wyoming wind has a lot to do with that, but momma said there'd be days like this. It's a good thing you didn't hit that target with the Barrett, you'd have knocked it into next week. Spending $75 worth of .50BMG for some entertainment value in your video speaks to the fact that you're putting good effort into this series. It's a great series and I look forward each month to the new installment. I'd love to come down from Wyoming and shoot the competition, but my job keeps me scrambling most of the time so it's tough. One of these times I may have to set up my 8" plate at a thousand and shoot it solo just for fun.
