In this 1979 segment for PM Magazine, co-host Leeza Gibbons attends the annual Texas Renaissance Festival in Todd Mission. Gibbons walks the fairgrounds, experiencing highlighted activities while visiting with costumed revelers and vendors. Brothers George and David Coulam established the Texas Renaissance Festival in 1974. PM Magazine was a local news and entertainment television program broadcast on Beaumont's KFDM-TV in from late 1970s to the mid-1980s. This segment aired on November 5, 1979.

Wow I just went to this in 2021 and once back in 2003. I always wondered what it was like back then when the festival was still new....if anyone has been there back then and now what can you say about the differences. One thing I noticed is how the reporter isn't simply just reporting about the festival, she's fully immersed herself in the festival and seems knowledgeable about it. The TV reports about this festival today seems dull in comparison.

Wow. This brings back great memories. My mom and dad took me to this around this time. I was 5 and remember walking through the woods. I remember PM Magazine, too.

Almost 30 and I get yelled at for an ID just for being in a shop that had knives and swords. Was looking at mini statue figurines of dragons. Wasn't even interested in buying a blade!
