Nearly a week after Beryl crashed into the Gulf Coast, Texas residents outraged by still not having electricity.

How does this happen repeatedly? Center Point's customer service has failed miserably! My Father, 95, can't handle this heat. ...no one can.

We can't help them because Abbott took them off the national grid and did not make the Texas electric company fix their system after their last disaster. They have to decide to get some competent people, with integrity and intelligence, in their state government. I wish them the best. I know how very hot it can get in Texas and how very cold. Abbott should have been working on viable solutions for Texans instead of wasting time and money on useless immigration stunts.

That is the education I am trying to explain to people. This should teach everyone on Earth, you can never have it both ways. In Texas they want all of the conveniences of being connected to the national grid, yet they demand low taxes and yet they vote republicans, the gop& conservatives into the majority power in each& every election 🤔 Hopefully it will get so hot in Texas, that it will finally force the people in Texas brains to work and the people in Texas will finally stop voting& electing against themselves& their best interest by ever voting for, electing, supporting, helping to get elected &/ reelected, revoting for and or electing any republican, of the gop &/ conservative no matter what other names &/ titles they hide under i.e. libertarian...etc

@glendagraves1637 People who do not know should shut up. Abbott had nothing to do with Texas being off the national grid. From the very first power lines built in Texas more than a century ago, Texas has developed alone and did not interconnect with the national power system. Get some information first but meantime hide your ignorance

@@JanelleGodwin-zl8li You are talking to yourself. Texas does not want so farto be connected to the national grid. That is the way it is. I personally think it is wrong but it will not change soon. As far as the rest of our ranting and raving post, it is just political BS of the highest degree and solves nothing.

This goes to show how unprepared this government is. The money goes straight to the pockets of politicians and those in power. The federal government needs to launch an investigation and arrest those Corrupt officials, PERIOD!

@@MaximillionK Federal Government has nothing to do with the problem. The Texas State Government has been voted in and set themselves in a position of power. The people of Texas have to vote them out or demand an investigation. However, when you have no balance of power, or checks and balances, authoritarianism runs rampant and grifting becomes the norm. So, the Texas Utilities were allowed to do the bare minimum in upgrades to fool the voters. Voters, and citizens, always take the hit and pay for people with no integrity in public office. I hope Texans survive this ordeal but don't forget the people, like Abbott, who actually made the situation worse.

It was a HURRICANE people!!! Severe damage to the power grid happens, even with a tropical storm or mild hurricane!!! Buy a generator, or be willing to pay a small to large fortune to have utility lines run underground - or live where there are NO TREES! Our power in Huntsville is supplied by MidSouth, and the power to our farm was restored comparatively fast; but we also have a small generator just in case it takes longer next time.

@@CZAR-OF-SARCAZMAbbott caused the failures in the repair of Texas utilities. They are not on the national grid. They only have utility companies functioning in Texas for Texas. When they lost power during the big winter storm a while back, the utility companies were supposed to be upgraded to better handle disasters. But, Abbot didn't enforce it. He's been too busy pulling immigration stunts. And the money for utility upgrades? I don't know who pocketed that.
