Me encanta ver esta clase de bus. Me recuerdan días hermosos de mi juventud cuando viajaba a una lejana ciudad de la capital de Guatemala. Yo preferiría uno cómo este para llegar allá.

This machine was made when people just made things to last and do what they were made to do. Nothing made today will last even a fraction of the years this bus has been parked. This bus could be back doing daily round trips 7 days a week if needed. Amazing. Thanks for all your hard work and interest you have in these neglected machines.

Work still to be done: Lights and Reverse engage to be repaired, brakes adjusted, throttle adjustment, address the air compressor, replace the aux air tank check valve, address the air assist steering, top fluids and fill the gas tank. Then drive it home!

This video is the clear proof that we have been too concerned about diesel exhaust while it hardly pollutes at all. Only when starting up does a tiny, tiny bit of poison come out of the exhaust. After that it is clean and smells terribly nice. And it is the most delicious warmth you can feel. So stand as close and as long as possible to the end of the exhaust and let the tiny bit of smoke soak into your clothes, wonderful! This engine can start up in my shed, the tiny bit of smoke is really nothing. Really a shame that so little smoke comes out, should have been much, much more😭

I just saw my spelling errors this morning lol. It was a long day yesterday. As for the compressor they haven't rebuilt them in my lifetime. I called all of our bus parts suppliers and they all said the same thing. The only chance we have is to find a good used one but that's still going to give us an outdated and used compressor. The best bet will be to retrofit it to a newer compressor.

Mental calculations were happening as we were trying to shut it down. If the transmission engages that would be about 1,800 prop speed. 600 prop speed gave us 20 knots. That much would plane the hull and give us 50+ perhaps. And in a big circle till we hit something. 32"x 28 pitch 3 bladed props and yes a high speed planing hull. Ex 104' army rescue vessel.. thinking if the rods come out its only 3 feet to the wooden hull.
