Some of the roller bearings would not spin freely and someone at the factory had ground flat spots on the trunnions so they did not sit properly on the rocker pedestals.

What was the problem with the trunnions on the texas speed roller rockers? I have PRC heads on my 383 that im putting together and was concerned about the same issues you said about guide wear and valve tip wear. Was looking into these rockers but I'm weary about using their TSP brand trunnion bearings since theyre copies of the comp trunnions which ive heard people have problems with prematurely wearing out. And of course the CHE bronze bushing upgrade is out of stock.

Some of the trunnions had flat spots and I was concerned they wound not sit well in the rocker pedestals.

Did you call to make sure they were out of stock . I just ordered some and the guy found two sets

What is the benefit of the roller rockers? Were the lifters changed? Heads fixed?

Less friction is the main benifit which in turns frees up horsepower. Lifters were changed in the past, but it is not a must when converting to roller rockers and I have Texas Speed heads, but again you dont have to modify or change heads if you convert to roller rockers.

@@WATCHMEWRENCH I am concerned about the head fix. Tony Mamo recommends roller tip rockers on fixed heads to avoid side loading and wearing the vavle guides.

@@paisley2342 yeah roller rockers don’t side load the valves like the regular scrub nose rockers, this is really important when you have high opening spring pressure and high lift

I was curious on these rockers. I should have asked if they have any problems having stock valve covers

They work fine with the stock valve covers.

Thank you . That's good to know... They call for a shorter pushrod at .175 difference. It's why some people are reluctant to buy them but I bought these Johnson bar lifters that caused me to buy new pushrods anyways.

@@TheOklahomabourne Since your adding new lifters as well make sure you actually measure for the proper pushrod length. Don't just get .175 inch shorter pushrods. different lifters have different plunger heights compared to stock lifters.

@@WATCHMEWRENCH I'm still waiting on my rockers . But I found it interesting doing some calculations on what size pushrods I'll need. It comes back out to 7.4 after installing the Texas speed roller rockers and these Johnson bar lifters 2116lsr... Rockers say .175 shorter pushrods and the lifters I believe need .175 longer
