Alan's main guitar, a red 1960 Strat, was previously owned by Stevie Ray, & before that, Eric Johnson. The same guitar has also been played by Johnny Winter, Billy Gibbons, & Carlos Santana.

I get to see alan every month at the big easy in houston and it is always a great night. He does a 2.5 hr set. It is always great.Has been for the last decade or so.

@bryandunnblues I went down to Joe's and saw him play many times. I've never heard anyone get as many different timbres and dynamics from a guitar. He uses everything man. Picking techniques, pick-up combinations, finger picking, tone knobs, magic! He's amazing!
