Parents are super happy about this bc they have seen the corruption in board members getting rich and schools still using desks from the 90s. Ppl from the community don’t run HISD lol

ABOUT TIME MY GOODNESS.......we ran from this district due to the dysfunction! Yes, I said it TEA I will back you 100% take over because some of those folks are abusing the system and providing SUBPAR education....it is almost like you can get a degree in balling up paper then come and teach those kids 🥴

@@BucketList22 the solution is obvious. Just in case there were people that forgot what government is, the people who founded this country adopted a document called the constitution. It states: 'That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, that whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles, and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness.'

We all love the children when the spot light is on us, but after the light is gone, back to the mess. It was bound to happen. HISD has been in disarray for years. Clear the board, managers and their side pieces.

Thank the good Lord I don't have any children.I don't trust any of America's institutions to act in the best interests of children.I would have to home school them.And confine them to the home until the age of 18.If I did let them out,it would have to be under my supervision.Its sounds cruel.But what is a parent to do?

How about letting that "stranger" audit ISD from it's financials to what is being taught to students, having a 3rd party outsider would be good so they can see what ISD may or may not be doing to code.

Investigate Katy ISD and a local band and booster club for a potential criminal shakedown of students and it goes something like this… you don’t pay your band fees you have to take final exams, if you pay your band fees, you’ll be exempt from final exams….non Katy ISD employees influencing the band Director, it’s all in an email…. Audio to back it up… Leslie Haack with Katy ISD, she’s aware of it since December 2022, ask her why she’s not taking action???!!

I left HISD last year,this is not good at all they definitely won't be for "the kids" but a few parents and I tried to hold it together for years. Unfortunately when communities don't pull together they have power hungry folks running all up in it and this is what's happening now. Prayers to you all I recommend moving districts I'm from 5th ward and my kids attended Wheatley among other schools. I'm so heart broken but I'm only one person and the parents just didn't have the time or some didn't care. So here we are.God bless!!!

Good!!! The school my son attends should have been closed down 6 yrs ago. Not all teachers are doing it for the love of teaching but for the love of money!!.

May I ask why teaching is a job that must be done for the love of teaching when teaching is in fact a job? And why is there no other job where the expectation to have that particular job requires that you have to love what you do (to be good at it)?

😅 for the money???? With health insurance and taxe deductions, their checks are about $1700 every 1st and 15th. U call that loving money? I get it they have a lot of time off. But what they have to deal with is not worth what they get paid. It’s very very rare to find a teacher that doesn’t care about the kids.

@@chrisc1896 "not worth what they get paid" is a matter of opinion. If everyone felt that way, then nobody would be doing it, right? I also disagree with the person above claiming that it is the "only" job where you have to love what you do. As you guys point out, teachers get a lot of time off. They might work a lot of overtime when they are working but let's not pretend that no other careers or jobs require that (and many don't get weeks or months off at a time to recuperate). Anytime someone is thinking about any career, enjoyment of the work should be a consideration. There are many thankless jobs and I think a lot of teachers get more appreciation than a lot of other professions, whether they recognize it or not. I am not saying we shouldn't appreciate teachers, especially the good ones, but I do think there needs to be more accountability. In many cases, it is a government job and therefore, there isn't as much accountability or holding teachers to a standard that would likely apply to a private job where we aren't talking about "someone else's money" paying for their employees. Again, there are many good and needed teachers, but there are also some that really have no business being around children and also teachers doing it for the wrong reasons. As you point out, if someone is doing a job that is "not worth what they get paid," then it might be a pertinent question as to why they would stick around if it wasn't for the money or the kids themselves. It might be better if they were held accountable to the people paying their salaries and those that have a vested interest in their children's education and keeping their children safe.

What about improving AND providing the children with special needs with what they are entitled to? What about providing the bilingual child with the same opportunity as the rest?

What are you even talking about 😂 we are like this because of money and standardized testing which is a republican issue. Blue states don’t waist their student learning time but taking standardized testing like STAR which has nothing to do with state standardized. It’s just a test that pours money into board member pockets. If you are going to whine at least be educated on the topic ❤
