I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again. Texas isn’t 3 peating and I know I’ve said several times that we are waiting for the right time to peak but after watching this match, I can’t. I’m really trying to believe in them but it ain’t happening. It would take an absolute miracle to do it atp. 3 unranked losses is not the Texas we know. Getting beat 3 times at home is not Texas. This team is miles better than last year but there is absolutely no team chemistry whatsoever and what kills me the most is yall had the chance to win in the 4th set and yall had 8 days off. What exactly were yall practicing? And there’s no senior leadership whatsoever. It all starts with coaching. Idk what Jerrit is trying to prove but you are proving why the 6 2 doesn’t work at all. Go back to whatever you did last year and the year before, the 5 1 with 3 defensive specialist/ Madi for the Bic. Jenna, I’m done with her. Do not play her at all. She has her good days and her bad days no in between. She can’t pass for shit, and when she hits, she either hits straight into the block or she hits it out. There is absolutely no reason for her to be playing 6 rotations when she can’t even hit from the back row. Should had kept parra instead. Emma and kaylei idk what is going on with the both of you but yall can do better. Madi and Reagan , good job, sorry your own team is ruining yalls chance at getting another title. Middles, I know yall are young (Ayden) but yall truly need to work on yalls blocks. Yall are late every single time and mari, you need to stop getting into the net. Setters, yall both have yalls advantages and disadvantages. Ella as much as I want to defend you cus you won the title as a freshman, I can’t. Her location is so damn off but I love her for her defense. Averi, you’re the better setter out of the two but your defense ain’t it. You can run the 6 2 for the teams that aren’t good. But you need to go back to the 5 1 for the good teams. If something doesn’t change, kiss the sec title goodbye and you’ll will have to go on the road the entire ncaa tournament. Keep the 6 2 but take out Jenna and put in Jordyn and have Madi play all 6 rotations , I can’t say Whitney cause I saw she was hurt. For the 5-1 it needs to be like this and I hate to say it. Madi and Devin, oh 1 and oh 2 with Madi playing all 6. Middles are fine, Reagan on the right side. Averi as the setter but if you want good defense and the height advantage go Ella. Emma, kaylei and Reese. Do that and watch things turn around! It’s still hook em forever but things need to change

@WhitneyGadison122 күн бұрын
@@Yeswow-r4d no that’s not why, from what I’ve heard, they were trying to give her rest cus she had a very busy off season so they were letting Jenna play 6 rotations. And we don’t go off of one match, we go off of the entire season. Madi hasn’t played 6 rotation since the beggining of the season. Jenna has and if you look at her stats, she has way more errors in every single match compared to Madi

Yikes. Almost never seen us look so lost in serve receive. Couple of interesting changes to the lineup that seemed geared for heavy offense, but we never got to actually run it cuz we never had a pass that stayed in system. I still say the 6-2 is a momentum killer. I feel like every time Ella or Averi get into a flow, they just get rotated out. I get the team is deep and no doubt there's tons of talent, but wow the chemistry just isn't there. I don't think changing half the lineup every few points is helping.
@Randonmatteo22 күн бұрын
They lose momentum every time swindle goes back in. I think the reason Jenna can’t get a kill is because swindles location is SO OFF. Jenna is outrunning the ball every time. The connection between Carlson and Madi is 1000 times better. The 6-2 is just not working in their favor I think Carlson should run a 5-1 she leads the team is assist like I don’t get what the hold up is. And for everyone saying wennas sucks she’s 2nd on the team for kills, digs and aces. I’m telling yall it’s literally swindle having zero connection and awful location.

I think the excess use of the transfer portal was probably one of the worst things to come to college volleyball. You always get teams like Texas that cultivate their lineups from the best transfers that they can get from other teams instead of cultivating their own talent. Younger players on these rosters come looking for a chance to play on the lineup just for the coaching staff to get someone on the transfer portal so that they can "develop" the younger players. The whole point of recruiting is to recruit players that you want playing for you on your team. Whats the point if you just grab someone from the transfer portal that has shown success elsewhere and you never start your recruits? I'm not saying the transfer portal is inherently bad because there are players that transfer to other teams that need it and truly make a difference. Just look at the effects of Alli Batenhorst and Skylar Fields for USC. They transferred from big programs to smaller ones and have significantly contributed to the success of their new teams without impeding on the development of the other players in the program. The part thats most frustrating is when teams bring together the best players from other programs and then make like this super team and then they end up winning close to everything. Teams like 2023 Wisconsin who had Sarah Franklin, Carter Booth, CC Crawford, and Temi Thomas-Ailara. All of them large contributors to their previous teams starting over all of Wisconsins other recruits. And this years Texas with Madi Skinner, Regan Rutherford, Avery Carlson, and Jenna Wenaas who are all part of the starting lineup over true recruits that have the talent to be there over them (mostly Jenna Wenaas). I'm also not saying that bringing in Avery Carlson from Baylor was bad, because she's obviously older and therefore more experienced and could prove to provide valuable advice to Swindle. Just look at other setter relationships like Kennedi Orr and Bergen Reilly at Nebraska. The freshman got the start over the junior, but Orr serves to help Reilly adjust to the college game at a higher level. Carlson could have done that with Swindle, but instead of recruiting from the transfer portal to help your existing setter, Texas only recruited to find a replacement for Swindle with experience. Swindle isn't "learning" or "developing" anything, this transfer has only served to ruin the confidence that came with winning a Championship her freshman year, drastically worsening her game. Please feel free to agree or disagree.
