A psychologist forensic expert on one of these dozens of news outlets covering this insane story said that an insane person can actually do things that are considered normal and rational that may require some intellectual reasoning and effort. It is not a perfect science and our legal system is not a perfect system of justice especially when juries are involved.

Yeah. I feel the same way about Jodi Arias and Travis Alexander. Her actions were beyond horrible, but Travis was wrong for stringing her along. He played with her feelings. She snapped. Never play with people's emotions. You have no idea of the state of someone's mental health. If you don't want them, let them go. I can certainly see someone feeling hurt or betrayed, but if that causes them to kill someone, ruin their lives and cause pain to family and friends, that's a pretty extreme reaction. People have affairs all the time. In some parts of Europe, affairs are the norm - maybe even seen as healthy and people don't lose their shit over it. One can't control what other people do, even with the best intentions. We can only control OUR reactions. the only way to really guard our feelings is to learn how to manage them better, take accountability for our feelings, know our triggers, learn how to communicate better and maybe get therapy. and yeah, if you can't tolerate infidelity, then definitely walk away.
