Passed through Guthrie hundreds of times. Wonderful little place. Stopped last late summer: met the county judge and got a soft drink at the courthouse vending machine. Nice folks. Nice place. New school and new stadium. Infectious. Stop in Guthrie and relax with good folks.

This has been my general experience interacting with youngsters in several southern states, including Mississippi and Alabama, and including both boys and girls. I say this as a Yankee of the deepest dye, and believe that civility is important. “It begins with bad manners; it ends with random shootings in the streets.” - Evelyn Waugh

Some of the best military recruits come from Texas. Most already understand having to make sacrifices, working hard, doing what’s required of them, and customs and courtesies. Other states really should follow suit not just for the military but for the civilian workforce.
