Nancy McIntyre, what a strong and awesome woman. My mother-in-law and father-in-law lived many years in a remote cabin on 40 acres that bordered a National Forest here in California. It was indeed a good but, hard life for them. Whenever family members would pay them a visit, they always took extra supplies/staples for their livelihood. Extra Coleman lantern fuel and Mantles, Kerosene and extra wicks for the Oil Lamps, etc, etc. Thanks TCR for sharing another great video about Americana.

I don’t to say or how to put into words how wonderful your stories are. They inform, uplift and bring light into a pretty dark world. I look forward to them. You bring humanity to reporting and leave us better for having listened. Thank you.

I viewed this before. Another viewing brought even more tears. I am 80 now. This woman seems to be much more than I have achieved. It is challenging to not feel small by comparison. I do envy her experience with her wolf-dog. A very special person indeed.

Being born in the mountains of WVa and having a coal stove and furnace my first 8 years, I can admire this lady. We did have electricity and running water….. most of the time.

And of course the story has nothing to do with either.

Ken Paxton is a felon and a fraud. The frivioulous lawsuits were filed to get his profile up for a Trump pardon regarding all his corruption. He and you are an embarrassment to Texas.

@@user-ri4qk1xy3c couldn’t agree more. And.....there is no way this kind and gentle lady would support what Paxton did.

A good video. Not Texas but there are many interesting stories in places other than Texas. This has been a wonderful video. GranPa and Nana in Texas.

Bob Bullock, the Texas state museum in Austin, is named for him, was the Lt. Gov. and always concluded his speeches with "God bless Texas".

Nancy, I have an off grid cabin! I love the wilderness but my wife does not. I like to go to the cabin but I get very lonely. Do you have any advice!
