Looking good, that looks like the tee piece that goes between the source port and bottom port of the wastegate and from there 1 line to the controller, I can be wrong but if its working for you, just send it. Still and awesome build.

what does taking out the ball and spring do? wouldn't that make the MBC not work at all? or am i wrong.

Get an hks ssqv. I already have designed inserts for it. I still have all the 3d models so.it wouldn't take much to play around and get something obnoxious. I already have one that sounds like a loud eagle screech. It echos off buidlings

sinformant That’s what I like!! Idk if I can run the HKS since this mounting location is a 2 bolt blow off valve design. I don’t wanna cut the pipe up more chances of boost leaks and I can’t weld aluminum. I will try to figure out how to get a HKS on here.

@@TexasHondaChannel I had the same bov mount type as that. At the time I didnt have a tig that can weld aluminum like I do now. What I did was turn the adjustment bolt on the bov all the way in to lock it shut, and then replaced one.of my silicone couplers with one that had the hks flange on it. You could also cut the pipe on both sides of that flange and run a similar coupler as I used. Whenever I get around to swapping in the new motor in my car I plan to just cut off the existing flange and weld on an hks flange. www.amazon.com/dp/B016J2WMGM/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_i_peZ-DbP72EE4K

sinformant I did that before I just didn’t like. Because I ended up with boost leaks on both sides of the couplers. The least amount of couplers the better because less chances of boost leaks. I’ll find a way without doing that. Just gotta think and I’ll figure it out. Need money first anyways lol

@@TexasHondaChannel no worries. Mine was holding 22psi. The reason I swapped to a ssqv is because the knockoff greddy bov i had wouldn't hold at the level of boost I was on.

sinformant Weird. The one I have I used on another civic and it did amazing but I had 2 springs inside the bov and tighten the stiffness. Either way ima do something just not sure when because im not gonna be able to afford much till next year because Christmas

Bro, your ground wire is on plastic. Put it somewhere else. The headlight plastic won't work as a group. Just trying to help.

The bolt looks like it goes into the metal of the support panel, so might be fine

For those using this type of manual boost controller, will it hold the same set boost level regardless of outside temperature OR does it fluctuate with temperature or barometric pressure changes, requiring readjustment to keep the same boost level?

Yo i blew up my d16y7 installed a borgwarner totally forgot that I had a boost controller like a dumb ass and didn’t even notice the car was over boosting it boosted to 26psi and blew rod through bottom end since then will this help me fix my over boosting all the way to 26psi or is it my wastegate spring effecting it too? Looking for 10 psi for a daily please lmk.

Ik this is an old comment and you prolly figured it out but you prolly have some heavy springs in the wastegate that are making it not open till 26psi try throwing a 10lb spring in for that wastegate or find out what size the ones you have are

no no no... you did just about everything that could be done wrong with a MBC... first off, you removed the ball and spring, from a ball and spring boost controller! In this boost controller (that is not a bleed valve type) it needs to be in there! Then you removed the small restrictor that is there to make sure the bleeding chamber hole is able to actually bleed faster than the boost is filling it. you should really not be allowed to publish "instructional" videos.

I think you are partly wrong with this reply. The ball and spring are actually part of the "gate" mechanism that turbosmart implements that is designed to keep the wastegate shut during spool up to bring the turbo on to boost quicker. This occasionally causes spikes and even in their manual it says to remove it if you are seeing spikes as the turbo comes on boost. As for the restrictor part you are right about that but it probably just means you have to open the valve further to get the same level of boost compared to having the restrictor in. The boost controller will work fine either way.
