Ill send him this video, he's not a huge long range but out there in Texas a lot of guys do it, and I know he has a couple beauties to choose from. Don't think he's too far away either

Hey, I actually have a question for you about your setup. I have gotten a few chances to shoot the DD Delta 5 in the pro chassis and I was wondering if you had any of the same issues with bolt hangup I had (I had issues with the bolt hanging up at the rear of the action if you pulled the bolt back in any orientation other than straight to the rear, I sometimes exert a slight amount of pressure to the right side of the bolt). I was wondering if you had the same experience with the Delta 5 in the standard chassis?
@PaxtonsOutdoorPursuits Жыл бұрын
@matthewconnair229 I’ve had my Daniel Defense Delta 5 for about 3 years now. I have never experienced any issues with the bolt hanging up on the Delta 5, where I’ve had that issues on other rifles. After shooting I place a light coat of oil on the 3 lugs. Maybe that is helping me not see that issue. Hope this helps. All the best!

@@f308gtb1977 Yeah. I know. You know..yeah, I’d love to be able to fork out $5-10k without flinching, but even if I could, I honestly don’t know if I would. In fact I have more money in two of my air rifles than I do in either of my hunting rifles. Most of the powder burners I’ve owned were used. Pawnshop deals. I’ve owned over 315 guns since 1990. I can probably count on one hand how many have just been junk. I’ve had 3 Moisans, and I think 8 SKSs in different configurations, and for s#itty commie guns they were very reliable, and super accurate. I mean, Jesus, one Nordic guy kept the entire German army, or was it the Russians (that’s what you call irony) at bay, I think with iron sights. That says something for a gun designed in the 1890’s with no changes in design. I honestly have always believed that it is primarily the finger working the trigger more than the gun.

These videos are very interesting in the context of all the long range hunting stories I hear on the internet. People bragging about 800-1000 yard shots on deer or elk. This just goes to show you that even a really good shooter can miss the target by several feet on the first shot. It takes a lot of practice and really knowing your equipment to ethically shoot at an animal that far away.

The South African guy with the AI showed the value of experience. Of course, he has top tier gear, but he knew how to drive it. I have tried an SPR Mk 12 Mod 0 clone (DD) quite a few times over the 500-800m and it's bloody hard (factory 69/77 gn ammo). The lack of bullet splash is probably the biggest problem. That and the fact any wind will blow the bullet into the next zip code.

That .223 can get out there alright, but the wind really pushes it around.
