He explains what he's doing, what the CIDR does and why it's important, especially when cattlemen are using Artificial Insemination (AI)
CIDR is used to improve the timing and efficiency of cow and heifer breeding programs.

Raising cattle, farming and ranching is a business, you want your herds to produce healthy caves for market or create the next generation of breeding stock. Nice to see someone raising something other than Angus, these look like limousine (?), but look very healthy anyhow. Great education

Most wait a few months, but a certain shot can bring them in heat sooner

Once... then if she comes back into heat (estrus) it will have to be done again. Sometimes it takes the first time, sometimes not... depends on the cow.

It is not rape. As an ER nurse who has done hundreds of rape exams over the years I find this extremely offensive. You minimize the word when you use it like this. Rape is a violent, criminal act, that damages the victim physically and emotionally for life. They are never the same and many funny survive. These cows are fine the moment it's over and show no evidence they are bothered at all. HUGE difference. And if you think there's consent when a bull does this... You need to join reality

We had a bull break through a fence when I was a kid. He got to one of our heifers and wound up injuring her so badly she had to be put down. My dad used insemination only after that. It's safer.
