Well done, Tex. This was a great vid. Very educational. Now I understand disc much better. I assume this applies to most brands? Recovery time is an issue. I need a sniper coil!

VonnCrit Thanks, The only issue with the sniper coil is it's depth, so be aware if you are in a trashy area with depth. It may be problematic. A small Double D coil (like the 5 by 8) maintains a lot of the depth though you do lose some target separation it might be a good compromise choice.

Really good explanation of the faults with using discrimination. Be well, Al-Fu

Als AllMetalDetecting Thanks, and I am not bad mouthing discrimination (beside its effect on gold searches) you just need to use it when you have a spread of trash and not a concentration.

good video--Why didnt you use the fisher cz3d--it would picked up that quarter...the T2(I dont think you have it but...you should lol) w/ 5" coil also would have picked up that quarter.prob even in part 1.

carminesr1 I like the CZ3D, but nothing recovers faster than the Deus, it hit inconsistently in both parts of the first test and I was running Deus fast with the top reactivity. Of course there is no small coil yet, I would love to see it work with a 5 inch coil on that test.. But I will give the CZ3D a try.
