Emotions aside. Texting. I don't want to talk and waste time. Texting allows me to get my points across faster to multiple people. It helps me set up events I want to go to and places. Like I'll talk when I meet up with friends. Don't want to talk to them when I am at home because it's a time waster. Also you can set your cell on silent so no noise either. Not true. With Texts I don't have to answer that person back asap. I can wait. Now with phone calls I have to either have the device stuck to my ear and and do chores. I put on earphones to solve that problem, but I am still talking to that said person. Also with texts the screening of calls is a lot better because they tell me if it's an emergency or not. With calls all I see is the number and they don't leave a voice mail. If it does go to Voice mail I may not check it for at least a day or so depending on how busy I am.

For me, it depends on who is on the other line. I can talk to some people because they get to the point of the call. Others drag out the conversation for-freaking-ever. They'll do stuff like say, "alright, Imma letchu go and I'll talk to you later" then immediately after say, "oh, but did you hear about so-and-so getting locked up/dying/getting married?" Nope, but *text me the details* and we will discuss it another time. lol I _have_ to text some people because talking to them is like pulling teeth with their short ass attention spans. I'm too long winded to constantly repeat myself because the person on the other line talking to everybody in their immediate area while I'm on the other line.

Tony P - Nah, I’m talking about a back and forth about a specific topic. In the time it takes to finish that back and forth through text, it could’ve been over twice as fast through a call. As far as someone getting off topic during a phone call, I personally know how to give a short response to the subject that’s off topic, then immediately tell that person that I’m busy and have to go, but it’s not like that’s gonna happen in EVERY phone call anyway.
@tonyp93134 жыл бұрын
@@jwdathefax377 If you are talking back and forth on 1 topic that means that is already taking you a while. Lets say you do manage to talk about a certain topic within that 1 min of the phone call, people are not just going to say, yeah I got to go now. You'll be staying on that phone for at least 1 hour discussing other topics. However on text I can stop on just the one said topic or have a choice to continue other topics. Maybe it will take me 10 min back and forth on 1 topic during text. Ok but now you have to account for the other 50 min that you are still on the cell talking various topics.

I'm all about the phone calls, texts can be so rude and intrusive, follow me for a second. When a text comes in and the notification pops up your conditioned to look at it and read it, now what if I didnt want to speak to this said person, maybe this person has a issue of negativity or you simply don't want to talk to him/her for whatever reasons, but doing so puts me in a certain mood, maybe it's because I gave this person my time and peace of my space, reading text can sometime present an unwelcome environment. With a phone call I can simply ignore it and never pick up and never know what the person wanted, I can choose to not be bothered. I currently have 10 unanswered texts and I'm not inclined to answer any of them, heck they could be from a month ago, no when I do reply it's a few hours or a few days later. That's how important they are to me. It's not a form of communication I value, if you text me I'm almost certain I will not reply heck I might not even read it. But if a reply is sent it will be days or weeks later.

Technology (texting) has caused great damage with the beauty of "conversation!" We have lost the art of "talking to each other." Text messaging is appropriate in some cases and in others it can be insensitive and out of place. If an individual takes the time to pick up their phone and call you. The proper response would be is to return their "phone call" ....not text message them. Text messaging is also "impersonal" as well. Let's get back to talking to each other. Texting over talking. It's quicker and more efficient if I want to set up events or even to pick up food as I go over someones house. Like if I want to go to the cinema with 5 of my friends. Calling them to ask them could take me as much as 20 min. Now do that same thing in text where I copy and paste, that takes less than 1 min. Same with ordering food for people. Also when texting I don't have to answer them right away, I could watch tv or play single player video games etc. Now with talking you pretty much have to put in more effort and basically can't be multitasking as well as texting. It be something as simple as doing house chores. Texting for me.

Texts let's me have multiple conversations with a various of entities with close to definite answers in the responses. Yea I think of myself as a conversationalist but I prefer Texting. Good job.

Its 50/50 if u feel like talking call but if u dont wanna hear someone voice and kno they gonna talk forever thats when a text is better to keep it to the point

I like text better because it gives you time to think about ur response and trying to get off the phone with some one who talks to much be awkward
