NAZIS -- like most authoritarians -- really like hierarchy, and will normally be VERY POLITE to those with more power. If you are part of the DESPISED GROUP, the Authoritarian will only be polite to hide their true agenda. When enough of the self-appointed SUPERIOR group are gathered together, pretence is dropped and the verbal and physical violence against the Despised escalates. Trump's speech and actions have normalized schoolyard bullying, ridicule of the disabled, POWs, & women, etc. Normalizing the milder forms of abuse emboldens the psychopathic minority to commit atrocities. It also deepens the shame and fear and hopelessness of the members of the DESPISED Group. In the face of bullying, it is essential that bystanders speak out against it, then and there. We have to support the vulnerable or empower the authoritarians. And don't let them excuse any of this as a joke. Read the play "The Firebugs" by Max Friesch. It's hilarious, but also gives chilling insight as to how the NAZIs gained cooperation by "the pious middle class" until it was too late.

My point was that the whole kissing of the fingers like a chef while referring to oneself as a “racism connoisseur” appears to be a straight lift from one of Dave Chapelle’s classic sets, and is one I have seen replicated by several non-white comedians. I’m not attacking the concept. I’m simply critiquing their craft, as I’d like to see new comedic analogies instead of just recycling well known stuff made popular by legends like Chapelle.

I love the fact that Middle Eastern comedy is making a bigger presence because it breaks down barriers for those who are willing to change and this particular joke is very close to home my family is a southern family when I was growing up I found out they were very very steeply immersed into the clan so when I bring my first girlfriend over who just happened to be black well you can kind of tell how that went but I find it particularly funny that even the most staunch racist has to laugh now and then !

I've always said, racism isn't my problem... If you hate me because my body produces more melanin than you, you're going to go home and complain that you saw a black person walking down the street... I'm going to go home and make a nice vegan mince and pasta, play some F1 on the computer... Maybe break out the magic wand and imagine Rachel Maddow and Ellen Degeneres have me tied up and... Well... Things happen... But I digress... Even if I get turned down for a job, my attitude is that one of your competitors will employ me and I'll make it my mission to put you out of business... I've done it before!

@YourPalHDee5 жыл бұрын
He never stole from Pryor dude. Pryor literally commended Chappelle as a continuation of what he started.
@jak_the_buddha5 жыл бұрын
@@YourPalHDee I know he did. Pryor famously said Dave Chappelle was the next Richard Pryor, but it doesn't avoid the fact Chappelle stole off Pryor. Comedians steal off other comedians. It happens. Maybe steal is the wrong term because i genuinely think it's just people paying homage to their influences

Stole the connoisseur bit from Dave chappelle but ok....
@wyterabitt21496 жыл бұрын
I really doubt it. Of course it is not impossible, but "*insert anything* connoisseur" is a basic joke format for anything. And I know I have heard it in a comedy club a looong time ago, it was in reference to the person saying it that time (talking about someone coming up with a ridiculous amount of different racist insults, he was "impressed" and refereed to the person as that) but it is still the same thing.
@wriches6 жыл бұрын
@@wyterabitt2149 agreed, it's quite a "basic" line. And in Chappelle's case, it's the delivery that makes it.
