They often are like that. Just like colonialists; they spend their days sipping tea and eating cucumber sandwiches whilst murdering millions and destroying countries for generations to come. Richard Spencer built his whole brand off it. He'll advocate for your deportation or execution whilst smiling and wearing a suit.

NAZIS -- like most authoritarians -- really like hierarchy, and will normally be VERY POLITE to those with more power. If you are part of the DESPISED GROUP, the Authoritarian will only be polite to hide their true agenda. When enough of the self-appointed SUPERIOR group are gathered together, pretence is dropped and the verbal and physical violence against the Despised escalates. Trump's speech and actions have normalized schoolyard bullying, ridicule of the disabled, POWs, & women, etc. Normalizing the milder forms of abuse emboldens the psychopathic minority to commit atrocities. It also deepens the shame and fear and hopelessness of the members of the DESPISED Group. In the face of bullying, it is essential that bystanders speak out against it, then and there. We have to support the vulnerable or empower the authoritarians. And don't let them excuse any of this as a joke. Read the play "The Firebugs" by Max Friesch. It's hilarious, but also gives chilling insight as to how the NAZIs gained cooperation by "the pious middle class" until it was too late.

@@iss2075 I changed countless racist peoples minds by just being around them. Not by "being nice", but by exposing them to other races and cultures and having them realise by themselves that there is no actual difference besides skin colour. Believe what you will though, if you want to alienate yourself from other people and shout "racist", "homophobe", "sexist" be my guest. I could tell you 100's of stories why these racist people are racist, and how it can be overcome. Of course some people are just pieces of shit, but that's another thing, and they don't represent even 1% of these people. "Genetic racial differences that they read" is rarely a reason for people to be racist.

I’ve had the full gamut of racism from sideways glances to an all out physical attack with people (yes, as in plural) popping full soda cans and lobbing them at me like grenades. And that doesn’t even cover what my loved ones have been through. But that was never my point. My point was that the whole kissing of the fingers like a chef while referring to oneself as a “racism connoisseur” appears to be a straight lift from one of Dave Chapelle’s classic sets, and is one I have seen replicated by several non-white comedians. I’m not attacking the concept. I’m simply critiquing their craft, as I’d like to see new comedic analogies instead of just recycling well known stuff made popular by legends like Chapelle.

I really doubt it. Of course it is not impossible, but "*insert anything* connoisseur" is a basic joke format for anything. And I know I have heard it in a comedy club a looong time ago, it was in reference to the person saying it that time (talking about someone coming up with a ridiculous amount of different racist insults, he was "impressed" and refereed to the person as that) but it is still the same thing.
