I DIY'd this on myself and it turned out really cute! This is a really great tutorial and was easy for me to follow. That said: it also takes a lot of time and patience to do correctly if you're not a professional. It's a better use of your time and money to have it done in a salon. So if you do this...make sure you have all the right tools, good lighting and mirrors, and a few hours to spare. To anyone thinking of doing it: I wish you all the best!

Because this type of over aggressive sectioning is usually just for training when you're learning how to cut hair. I'm not saying it doesn't get done once you graduate, but it becomes increasingly superfluous if you know what you're doing. What you said is kind of silly. They're not just "grabbing globs," They're using guide lines to cut dynamically by knowing where sections go, and that doesn't mean they're not good. Hairstylists learn over many years where to cut the hair without all the sectioning. Again, I'm not saying sectioning isn't ever done, I know I still do sectioning as necessary. But I literally AM a Redkin trained stylist like this person said for you to find, and I still wouldn't section this cut in exactly the same way. When someone like you comes to me and says, "No matter WHO I go to, I never like my haircut!" I usually think it's a YOU problem, not a stylist problem. Because there's no way EVERY SINGLE stylist you've gotten is bad. The odds just aren't in your favor on that one statistically. You either: 1. don't describe what you want well. 2. Don't bring proper reference photos. 3. Don't know what you want and are indecisive about what cut you're going to get when you go leading to a higher probability of not liking it. 4. Have an issue with change so that you think you know what you want, go in and get it, and then are just upset because you don't look like "you" afterward. Or, 5. You're picking haircuts that don't work with your hair type and the stylist is tired of trying to explain that to people so when you come in they just do the cut because it's what you asked for and then you think they "did it wrong" because it doesn't look like the photos but the real reason is because your picked a haircut for someone with a different hair texture and it's not going to look like the photos you like without extensive styling. Or heck, you're just the one and only worlds unluckiest and not a single hairstylist anywhere ever that's touched your hair knows what they're doing because they're just "grabbing globs."

That's because old school cutting is dated to today's hairstylists. I'm a hairdresser and I'm old school, I can't cope with this razor cutting and slicing all the weight out of the hair, making it sparce and lifeless...it's great for people with extremely thick hair, but they do it to every type, curly hair being the worst. That style of cutting is not for everyone. A girl's hair should move and not sit like a hat on the head 😂 Find yourself an old school stylist 😉

Love this cut and how and where you’ve sectioned everything. However, once I saw the razor come out I shrieked, a razor to my hair is the worst nightmare. I have thick wavy hair and a razor destroys my hair. FRIZZ until it grows completely out🫣 I would love to see this exactly tutorial using just shears, I know it’s more work but those of us with different hair texture simple can not have a razor to the hair. I do see how gentle you are which is amazing, but that’s not how most stylists use the razor, most just slice into the hair and I know, lived through it several times until I found my current stylist. I used to hear my hair being sliced literally that’s how hard the razor was being used. And it took me a long time to say NO because then you feel they get upset and you feel you’re stuck in that chair. I don’t know how much training is actually taught in using a razor explaining which kind of hair it’s suited for a razor and which hair texture is not.
