Why do ya'll have this mentality that the industry can force the public to like an artist. 99% of the artist that label sign fail. The Beyonce, Mary J Blige, etc are anomalies. Most artist don't pop off.

@@ocampbell1954 The public already liked her as a person. Her Sweet16 episode was popular af, people were listening to Google Me, her KZbin choreography videos had buzz, her version of Marvin’s Room was well liked, the list can go on and on. @@ocampbell1954 I’m aware. There are other factors like timing, which Teyana stated in her interview. Again, it’s STILL a fumble. She can still sing, dance, write, act, she’s in the right rooms and knows how to network, is marketable, etc. Are those not all things an artist needs to be (aside from acting)?

Problem is her old competitors would sabotage it. She's not that influential in the industry. Someone like Beyonce can have her artists songs played as many times as she wants. But Teyana, she doesn't have that kind of push. People would rather play a song that's trashy but it's been paid for than a good song that's from a talented person that can't pay for airplay.

I really resonate with Teyana's story and circumstances. Sometimes when you have so many aspects and facets people literally don't know what to do with you because they're so used to dealing with one trick ponies. The world looks down on the jack of all trades for some reason. I hope she gets everything life has to offer her and she never gives up on herself or her creative dreams. She is an amazing creative not just an artist. I'm going to go tap into this interview now.

@@ms.hjohnson6820 I definitely agree and they both are, but with them both doing the clothing lines and music they didn’t give her the same shine to flex herself. The multifaceted can multitask but only to a certain degree because you have soooo many aspects and ideas running through your head you have to often put at least one thing on the back burner. With that in mind, I would have never signed her because she doesn’t deserve to be on the back burner. From Teyana’s perspective I deal with people wanting to capture my light even though they don’t really know what to do with it - just to say they have it. It’s like being a butterfly or a firefly and they’re trying to figure out how you light up so they take you, but when you’re in bondage you can’t do what you were meant to which is be the light! I think both Pharrell and Kanye were selfish in their picking Teyana but T couldn’t tell because she was so damn young. I was more so referring to just the general public, why is she still underground after all she’s done? She’s proven herself time and time and TIME again to no avail. And it’s not because she’s not the shit, she’s just so complex and special she literally goes over people’s heads. I feel the same exact way and I’m “tired of hearing I can’t wait till you blow!” ❤️‍🩹

If you were to die today, are you a 100% sure you will go to heaven? If no, here is what the bible says, (1) Romans 3:23 KJV [23] For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Q1. Do you know what Sin is? Sin is anything bad that we have done. Q2. Have you sinned before? Yes or No? (2) Revelation 21:8 KJV [8] But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Because we have sinned, and God does not allow Sin into Heaven, the punishment is burning hell. What is the way to reconcile our peace and relationship with God? Q3. Do you know the Story of Jesus? (3) Romans 5:8 KJV [8] But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Jesus = God who lived up in Heaven, but he came down on earth and became a man like us, he lived for 33.5 years without committing any sin. Then there were certain people who were jealous and therefore framed him on phony charges, and crucified him. Then he was buried and resurrected on the third day; Now he lives in HEAVEN. Q4. Do you know why Jesus went through all this bloody mess for us? A4. As mentioned, our sin is the reason why we can’t go to heaven, and the only thing that can wash away our sin is the Blood of Jesus. (4) Romans 5:9 KJV [9] Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. According to the bible, the only way for us to reconcile with God is through Christ Jesus’s blood, and not through any works that we do or merits we accumulate, such as water baptism, attending church, or any good thing that we do. The following verses clearly support this. (5) Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV [8] For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast. (6) 2 Corinthians 7:10 KJV [10] For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. In order to get saved, repentance of one’s sin is needed to get saved, we need to be sorry, and repent, with conviction, that we are a wretched sinner. (7) Romans 10:9 KJV [9] That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. If you truly do believe in everything you have heard in the gospel, ,I strongly suggest you to make a proclamation to GOD! You can say it to God in less than 15 seconds !Repeat after this simple prayer, to make sure you truly get saved. Remember repeating this prayer doesn't save you, it's you telling God you BELIEVE THE GOSPEL. Ok, here is the prayer : ‘Dear GOD, I know I am a sinner, as I repent, I put my faith, that Jesus is GOD, and that he died, buried and resurrected, so that his blood, can wash away my Sins. I put my faith in that alone to save me, not my good works. In Jesus’s holy name, I pray. Amen! Congratulations ! Now you are a child of God. Download /Buy a KJV bible (I highly suggest getting a hard copy bible , as one day, it will be illegal to buy, own or even have an online version of the bible) and search for youtube channel like REAL Bible Believers , Spencer Smith to help you grow , study dispensationalism to understand the bible ( How do we reconcile the verses in the New Testament that tell us that we need works to show our faith, and another that tells us that nothing that can take our salvation away? That's why we need to study biblical dispensationalism to rightly divide the word of God.( study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth, 2 Timothy 2:15) (I recommend the dispensationalism video from Genesis to Revelations by Dr. Gene Kim, kzbin.info/www/bejne/fXqXdKebequrhc0) , Jesus in Genesis (kzbin.info/www/bejne/iJ7Rhp6EiZponbc) join a bible believing church. Nicki and Drake worked well because the WHOLE Young Money/ Cash money was ALREADY working well thanks to Baby and slim and the talents of BG and mannie in the beginning, they just continued what was already in motion. had NOTHING to do with wayne. I remember watching her on My Super Sweet 16 years ago. You could tell even then she was going to be a star. They dropped the ball on her musically and I hate that for her and her fans. I can’t wait to see her new movie and I know whatever direction she goes in she is going to kill it!

Her show in Vegas at the House of Blues was nothing short of amazing. I’m so glad I got to be there for her first Headline performance there. It’s completely ridiculous to me that it was her first time Headlining in a Vegas with it being part of her retirement tour. They fumbled the bag. Teyana is amazing I know there’s so much coming her way.

Teyana can be indie and will STILL be successful. She knows how to get it out the mud. Her grind is crazy. No matter what she gets into…she’ll be successful! I truly believe that everything has happened to her to protect her from the evils of the industry. She doesn’t need the machine, she is the machine. ❤

@@Justcanary8888 shes not gna go independent because then if she fails, she’ll have no male scapegoat to place the blame on 😂 Think about the fact that she was always rich and her dad spent a million dollars on her 16th bday party which was filmed and broadcasted on MTV. How was there ever anyone to blame? She had enough money to fund her music career in its entirety AS A CHILD…😂

I pray her light shines brighter than everrr! She’s a beautiful talented woman who deserves to be noticed and nominated more! It’s unfortunate that things happened the way they did but guess what she kept working for years and I’m proud of her that she stood up for herself! I love her and her voice is amazing ❤

She was so good in the movie Thousand And One. She's a good actress, singer, and dancer...she can do it all. I love her work and was sad when she said she was retiring. I hope she continues acting if the music industry won't support her. She would be great as Dionne Warwick.

I loved her even when everyone was always asking what she did and who she was. Her journey has been great honestly, she’s had longevity without major major hits or super gimmicks. Proud of her for always pivoting and staying herself ❤❤❤

Teyana is pure perfection. We are very lucky she kept pushing and has given us so much of her talent to enjoy. She could have very easily left the public eye out of frustration and unfair treatment. I just hope she goes on another tour one day. Covid kept me from seeing her last rose concert in Atlanta. I would LOVE to see her perform!

I saw her perform a few years ago in nyc. She puts her all in everything she does. But I can tell she is reflecting on how she was treated in the music industry. It's disappointing. But I'm glad she didn't give up on her dreams. She is now doing acting, and directing music videos for other artists
