I feel like if soldier got a rifle it would just have to be an M1 Garand. Plus, all of sniper's rifles are bolt action already. If an M1 was added I would probably use it all the time just cause it's an M1 (and for that ping)

And to me, the idea of a slower firerate is kind of dumb, because with a shotgun it makes sense that is it slower because it has a pump. If the secondary, or dare I say, a primary, it would have a faster firerate, higher damage, but you won't have the spread of a shotgun. Having no shotgun spread is a downside is because it requires you to be more accurate for the infantry rifle, instead of generally aiming in the direction of a person. Also, the reason I say it could be a primary instead, is because what if we had a Garand with a grenade launcher attatchment? Only one grenade shot, sure, but that's still an explosive.

That would break the game, with a weapon like that you are deleting one of the biggest downsides of the soldier, his slow movement speed, with a rifle a injured soldier could snipe you without taking any risk.

PDA: Perimeter Protector Replaces the Sentry with a Interceptor. This may shoot down projectiles qs well as humans. The Interceptor is a sentry with one gatling that fires extremely quickly. It has massively increased ammo capacity, and some added range, but is slightly more fragile, and is somewhat less accurate. The weapon has a patrol mode, and a interception mode. Patrol will prioritize enemies, interception will prioritize projectiles. Specifics: The weapon is not instant. It can take a little time to shoot down projectiles, and its not 100%. In addition, upgrades only boost HP and gun accuracy. Variation: Pintsize Protectors Small "sentry" guns equipped with pistols. 100HP and 75 rounds of ammo with a short range, but five can be placed at once. They're also cheap. Upgrading will double its firepower, but it may only get to Level 2.

Officers Offaler, level something sword. +50% faster swing speed +Hit an opponent during their swing to cancel their attack and gain a 100% attack speed increase (increase to the attack interval) for your next strike. -33% slower attack speed -20% damage penalty. First of all, only being able to block demoknight swords would be a bit... bad, as a weapon that only works against one subclass would be highly situational. So in my eyes, it'd be better if it works against all melee attacks. The increased swing speed is in terms of the time taken between inputting the attack and the swing connecting. Having a shorter input lag helps time the attack. The 50% slower attack speed increased the attack interval, i.e. how long you have to wait after attacking before you can attack again, from 0.8 seconds to 1.2 seconds. Being able to parry your opponent doesn't mean much if they can swing again faster than you can parry again, so if you succesfully parry, your next swing will be ready in 0.6 seconds instead (faster than a stock melee), you can either use this to quickly get in another attack or hold it back to be ready to react to the next strike. Lastly, succesfully parrying should still deal damage, because otherwise, you're just wasting time. The weapon only does 42 damage, but has utility in melee fights. Also, the faster swing speed does technically mean that you can pull out and get a single attack with the weapon slightly faster than with stock. Giving a slight utility outside of melee fights as well. Potentially, a deploy speed bonus could be added to further emphasize this.

Invenblocker that’s a great idea. You could also possibly make it where the enemy gets a stun animation for a moment so you can riposte after without the speed buff. Or make it a Alt fire move where you hold a parry for 500ms or something and if it successfully parries a strike either you get a speed boost on your next swing or stun the enemy for a moment and get a increased damage swing or something. Don’t know which would be better. I like the swing into an enemies strike because it’s riskier and more unique than other games but idk how the net code and lag would handle all that. Another way for the parry mechanic can work is maybe during the deploy animation it can parry attacks and stun the enemy or something. To encourage swapping to a weapon or something. Overall I love the concept of the weapon. Something new and definitely would be an amazing addition.

"Easier rocket jumping" is a huge problem. It isn't TF2's style at all. Other games do that sort of thing pretty well, like Overwatch (which is a good game, but very different), but TF2 is... well, it's about mechanical skill just as much as it is about tactics and placement. Why learn how to do a cool skill like rocket or sticky jumping when a weapon is just "click to jump" instead? I mean, some of the most fun a lot of people have in TF2 is in the things that are most difficult to do. Like playing Trolldier - it takes rather good prediction and placement, and extremely good timing to do anything. ...Also, we already have the rocket jumper for that. It literally exchanges your primary fire for being able to have no self-damage.

The jetpack... does have problems, in my opinion, but a lot of those are mitigated by the part where it's less versatile, and there still is some skill required in its use. It's not terrible or unbalanced, but if I was asked to design a similar mobility enhancement tool for the Pyro, I think I would have done things differently. Well, and the Thermal Thruster also removes the damage potential of Pyro's secondary as well, so it is a large tradeaway. That helps too.

While we're at it; Hero lander (+) melee the ground before landing to transfer all of your fall damage to nearby enemies, taking no fall damage yourself. (-) you take 100% more fall damage A gauntlet on soldier's left arm. A successful ground pound deals double of your potential fall damage to enemies but an unsuccessful ground pound results in you taking that double fall damage.

the caber for soldier would actually be a trench club as infantry would often take anything heavy and metal often disarmed or faulty grenades and use them as clubs in a trench raid as they were silent and better suited for raiding a trench at night or when you want to be unnoticed.

Steel plates and tin cans usually refer to plinking, but it can also refer to using small caliber firearms like pistols and even BB guns. Your connection is a good educated guess though

For the space items you shown: Moonwalkers: Boots that increase knockback from all sources but also increase damage from all sources. Upback: Loads charge by dealing damage. Once full, charge can be activated to lower gravity effect on user allowing to fly higher and fall slowers, for a short duration. While charge is active user is marked for death.

Tough Totem (Secondary and an another backpack) Instead of a passive buff it gives to soldiers and friendlies, soldier places down a totem that will reduce of damage of anyone in the totems range. Placing another totem will destroy the first one and place the second totem The placement of the totem will be similar to how to place a building Stats --------- Take in 200 damage to have it active. Reduces any damage taken by 50% I’m not sure how to describe range but it’s pretty similar to the buff banner If an enemy deals 150 to the totem, it gets destroyed If the totem gets destroyed, anyone still in the totem’s range will get 5 seconds of the buff (Take 50% damage)

Maybe don't have increased damage but simply increased explosion radius, a fuse of 3 seconds may be better as you can't clear the larger maps anymore (hopefully showing some mid-air explosions) while not having an abysmally long timer in the smaller ones. Slower firing speed is alright but the movement penalty is way too much and should actually be reversed to compensate the loss of rocket jumping, in fact I'd rather the weapon gave some knockback to the user similarly to the force-a-nature so you keep some semblance of rocket jumping without using the explosive.

7:33 Good pair with the rifle, I suggest while holding it out (and having the rifle equipped) you can right click and it would fix the bayonet onto the rifle. While holding the rifle w/ the bayonet fixed, you could right click and you could bayonet charge... I know it would start making the soldier slowly into a demo knight but hey, it a cool concept...

We had similar ideas for an arcing Rocket Launcher, even down to it being a mortar. Though for my concept I wanted it to deal less damage while increasing the target's vertical knockback. The main idea here is having fall damage deal the extra damage lost from it's base stats while obviously being much more situational. Of course a weapon designed to pop people into the air would have some combo potential too and could possibly fill an airblast-like role.

I was thinking that, but it'd be more of a dick move really. The apollo pack could be a mix between the banner and the backup, so minicrits while airborne, +100% jump height/slower fall speed, and slight damage resistances similar to the tide turner. It's hard to think of unique stats that mesh well with the moon theme. There's obviously low gravity, but other themes could be science, rockets, Poopy Joe maybe (horde of monkeys?), rocks, etc....

3:12 May I say for one this is based off some rifle during the Vietnam war, I assume M14 but not 100% sure. I find it a shame that it wasn’t modelled after the M1 Garand, just because most people know what it is or what it looks like. *mainly cause of the sweet ping sound*

@@Thatsaspicymemeball that would have some wild interactions with the beggar's bazooka. just adding a rocket to your ammo reserve would work though, maybe 2 rockets on a successful kill, with something like 15% damage vulnerability on the wearer

@@junipermcclary1645 I get the beggars point but nobody would use a melee so situational. why wade into combat with a melee and presumably no rockets and damage vulnerability when you could retreat to an ammo box. if it's a big fight there will be death dropped boxes strewn everywhere. you could just make the reloading melee unpairable with the beggars, like how the bootlegger and sticky launchers are

7:50 It is possible for the melee to be the caber for the soldier, but during WWI it was used as a trench raiding club... if it was going to be a stick grenade it could be based off the German Stielhandgranate and which it is throwable and it will cause a small explosion and shrapnel will fly out, causing the player to bleed or it could be on melee hit and which also affect the wielder. Another thing it could do is once the shrapnel has been launched onto the battlefield, it could linger on the ground for 10-20 seconds at the most and if someone steps on it they bleed for 2-7 seconds unless they are wearing shoes/boots... than the bleeding effect would be shortened or not happen at all

To be honest half of the weaponry is new for me cuz I use only few loadouts. Just switching to liberty launcher, base jumper or even a shotgun as secondary makes me feel the game fresh. But then I get killed and switch to the most effective loadout. So I couldn't dare asking for new funny and useless weapons until I try every underused thing. P.S. The ending is cool 😎

I think that most of players won't use first one on daily basis. Only a few days after possible release, just in interest. But it doesn't mean that it's bad, most players just won't learn something really new to solly, because they are very used to normal rlauncher / original. It will probably be like catapult in Mordhau - extremely powerful, maybe even OP sometimes, but nobody knows how to use it correctly... Plus third weapon will probably make Mordhau fans really happy

Idea: the Bouncy Boom. A rocket launcher that launches rockets that bounce of walls and the ground until it hits an enemy, it has a large blast radius but slows you down (also it’ll effect rocket jumping because it won’t explode on impact)

How about "Garand finale", for the soldier's rifle? It plays on its theme of being used mostly to finish up players at low health (And pyros)

iv had a concept slimier to the trench buster where it shot slower with higher damage but its gimmick is when you alt fire, solder sets it down and fires it like a mortar cannon but then you can control a slightly faster rocket that explodes on impact or it goes out of range of your character. This would allow for behind cover hits and still be close range reliable while making him open to flank attacks.

The 1st one is actually in tf2 classic . It’s called the rpg and does more damage but has a slower projectile speed and you only have 1 in the clip.

Here's a few ideas: Primary: the homie's heat sinker: Fires rockets that home in on targets with a downside of a reduced clip size and the rockets will explode after a few seconds if there's no target or if it's out of reach Secondary: the berserker's backpack: upon dealing 600 damage to enemies the soldier will blow a horn and any teammate within range will have unlimited ammo for ten seconds. Melee: the sworn oath: a dagger that grants the soldier an increased heal rate from all sources but it makes him slightly more vulnerable from fire damage.

Madmans mortar stats idea 5% slower reload time 10% damage Projectile travel in a arc Rockets have a arm time of 1 second No random crits M2 for setting down the mortar using it normally taking 2 seconds to set down and take up Allowing to use it as a normal mortar. Third person view while in mortar mode. Unable to reload in mortar mode Unable to move in mortar mode Firing at your own feet in mortar mode to make a high rocket escape and automatically get in rocket launcher mode I got a bit inspired by the weapon alright

Adding on to what i'd call Knildier, how about a primary that give soldier armour that turns any crit into a mini crit, with the downside being the fact it replaces the rocket launcher, leaving you with both a shotgun/backpack/rifle and shovel/sword/pickaxe/fish

I have some weapon concepts of my own, I just need designs for the weapons. They are all for soldier : "Patriotic Pillager" Primary +20 mag + rocket for every shot -20 damage penalty +More damage taken when rocket jumping "Honerable Occupier" Secondary +15 pellets per shot +35 magazine Alt fire : Launch a small grenade from the bottom of the rifle (60 Damage) -20 less damage -35 damage vulnerability on wearer when deployed "Merasmus's Staff" +15 swing speed +Crits whenever normally mini-crits +Alt-fire : Launch a lime, flaming ball that sets enemy on fire (5 damage per sec and last 8 secs) -20 slower move speed when deployed -Max health is drained by 50 when equipped

Okay, I _LOVE_ the idea of engaging a demoknight in glorious melee combat as a soldier. What I'd suggest for the sword would be the standard "slower draw, no crits, longer melee range" of sword-type weapons, with the parry mechanic being it's special shtick

I like the idea of the sword having a "ceremonial" theme. + +25% switch speed + Increased range (same as other swords) + On hit: Builds Honor (25% of meter per hit) - +15% explosive vulnerability Taunting with this weapon active will consume the Honor meter, healing you for 3 health per 1% consumed. This can overheal. The intended use for this is to finish off enemies too close for comfort, or those you know you can get a free hit on (Sniper, Medic or Spy) and get rewarded. The healing isn't as easy as the Black Box or Concheror, but you can get overhealed without a medic. A full "Soldier Knight" would be this with the Rocket Jumper and the Concheror (more healing, and speed when buff active).

I had an idea for soldier a little while ago, called radio silence. It would be a radio strapped to the soldier's back, like the buff banner. I imagine the passive ability to make you 100% silent to the enemies, and the active would silence your whole team. While holding it you could right click to slap the opponent for 5 points of damage, and the animation for the activating it would be the soldier hushing his teammates. This is a secondary, btw.

A gimmick for officer's offaler when swinging the offaler the soldier's arm hitbox moves to cover his head blocking sniper headshots

For the Officer’s Offaler, I would change the parry to a secondary fire that has a delay that can negate damage from a melee and make the enemy not able to attack or switch weapons for about .5 or 1 sec (I don’t know which is more balanced) It would have the same stats as a normal sword but it deals less damage. Edit: Parry deals no damage.

I think the Officer's Offfaller 'parry' should be a secondary function that when used will give 1 charge of 'parry' to knockback and 'cancel' all melee attacks (except for a backstab). Maximum of 1 charge. Build up parry by damaging enemies.

For non-rocket type primaries it should be in an alternate category like the mad milk, flare gun, etc. The common stats and way it would work is like this. 1. Projectile speed is the same as regular guns. 2. No blast radius (obviously.) 3. Firerate almost always varies.

The sword one doesnt really work with the downside of slower swing speed, cause yeah you can parry melee but i mean.... if demo swings faster he'll just keep swinging. either parry does a lot of damage/disables melee on attacker/ resets the swing timer would counter that issue but as it stands youd just be better off using anything else

I got one: a launcher that fires poison gas rockets, you don't get splash damage but the enemy is injured over time, similar to fire or bleeding damage. A downside is that you can't rocket jump as high and you are also affected by the gas if you are within the gas radius.

Maybe the lunar landing reduces gravity for him making him be able to stay longer in the, but to make it different from the parachute, it will reduce knockabout from attacks but slows how fast you can move or strafe.
