A team of two engineers can work if one uses the rescue while the other uses the shotgun. One engie can sit on the nest and take care of the sentries and other buildings whereas the second can do ocasional patrollings to hunt minor menaces or bring cover fire to the other classes.

The rescue ranger is still great for helping your sentry endure large amounts of damage in a very short period. I use my wrench to repair until my metal reaches 50%, I then retreat to my dispenser and shoot the sentry with my rescue ranger when needed as I refill. It helps your sentry endure damage that requires more than 200 metal to repair. I retreat at 50% in case I need to use the rescue ranger to repair as I am retreating to the dispenser, something not possible if you exhaust all your metal. The only thing the nerf really done was requiring you to stand next to your dispenser as you use it.

Actually at that point it's better if the other engine is repairing it with all the resources he can. The Wrangler Sentry can survive an Uber push plus many members of the enemy team if another Engineer is hitting it with their wrench.

Another tip I learned is sometimes it’s better to not use all the metal for upgrading the sentry, especially if the other team is currently pushing in, saving the metal for repair when you don’t have an infinite metal supply can help the sentry survive longer.

Another thing to note is that when you select to build a sentry a big red circle appear around you. This circle represents the range of your sentry and what areas it can cover from the position you're currently standing. Pay attention to this circle when selecting a place to build your sentry, it provides you visual information you can use to get the maximum coverage.

Tip: put your exit teleporter away from sentry nest to defended position, its affective when an demoman with a ubercharged medic destroyed your construction, but not the teleporter, meaning your team would deal them. But its not affective when the server isn't that big.

I always use the first mistake but it doesnt fail me because when i am between the dispenser and sentry and whenever the sentry gets damaged ill just fix it fast since the dispenser is behind my back

2 big mistakes I did with engineer when I first started to play the game where: not going at the place we respawn to get mettal and relying on my dispenser to get metal instead of the ammo boxes that are in the stage. my teamates kicked me out at least twice for doing these mistakes.

4:18 yes I really think a pistol is way better then a wrangler and a short circut. not just by usage but also for the fact that I got one with an unusual effect and a statclock and this is hat fortress 2 were style is everything. Then again I give no fucks about my buildings so theres that and yes this playstyle do work out for me as a hyper agressive engineer on both offense and defense (mostly) granted it's not that good if you're the only engineer on defence and decides to do this.

And cause "my Sentry's on fire, let me fix it with my Wrench. Oops, I had to switch from Shotgun to Wrangler to get to Wrench. Now my sentry is sleeping for 10 seconds AND has no shield at this time. FK this shit. Pistol FTW." Wrangler = Sentry being useless half of the time. -50% damage, - 90% accuracy. Yay.

I remember once I played as spy at that game with the ball.I found in the enemy team 5 sentries and dispensers one next to the other.I turned my self to engineer and started sapping,I destroyed many of them,I died but it was so much fan.
