16:40 this is a cool in-game demonstration of a little mechanic TF2 silently added that Lazy Purple discovered in making his 'How it Feels to Play Demoman' video. The reason the heavy didn't die here was probably because Monkey trapped his feet, and because TF2 only detonates enough stickies to kill a demoman in the case that he would die from his own trap, the ones set on the door simply vanish into thin air without doing any damage.

@@anonymousaccordionist3326 it makes *some* sense when you think about how demo's stickies are meant to despawn when he dies, but it's still extremely punishing to do the same thing with his own bombs.

The same thing happens to the Scottish Resistance demo at 17:56, while he was aiming at stickies you can _just_ barely make fizzling out a second later, it also detonates stickies underneath the user, and... well, you saw what he was standing on. Two instances of the same mechanic in a short timeframe, from two different perspectives. Neat.

The thing is, I don't think that's exactly how it works. I think it detonates one sticky at a time, calculating damage as it does so, and then moves onto the next, etc. The thing is, if one of these stickies kills the Demoman, the rest fizzle out. I dunno what order they detonate in though. It'd make sense for them to detonate in the order they were fired, but it may also be that stickies closer to the Demoman detonate first.

I got TF2 probably around 2010, played the sniper for ten minutes, moved on. Played in 2014 again, Heavy is funny guy, set it down. Played again in 2023. I think my total hours are 8 or 9. I recommend everybody plays this.
