I'm really happy seeing TF2 videos from newbies. THIS ISNT A BAD THING. After spending years and thousands of hours playing this funny hat game, its really refreshing to see a creators first impressions in real time. Especially your take on all of the weapons. I think its incredibly interesting to see players using the detonator for damage instead of movement or to not have the game knowledge to maximize the Reserve Shooter's potential. Are some of your weapon takes bad? Absolutely- but so were every single player just experiencing the unlocks for the first time. I loved this video and am super happy that it found its way into my Recommended Tab. Earned a subscriber, I am so excited to see what is to come in your content's future.

If you find yourself playing pyro again in the future, I'd recommend trying the scorch shot with the dragons fury. If you can get a direct hit with the scorch shot and then quickly switch to the dragons fury, the knockback on the scorch shot allows for easier aiming. Plus this combo can kill a light class near instantly providing they don't have overheal. Really enjoyable video, cant wait to see more!

Some advice for the back burner, you really want to be on a good map for it, 2fort is absolute dog water for that kind of thing, more elaborate maps are often better, but learning a map well is absolutely crucial, cart and control points are generally good, but really, as a back burner pyro myself, catching the enemy off guard is paramount, even though you can pull off a good push or go on the front line reasonably as well, but sometimes there is just too many bullets coming at us for a close range class to do anything

The reason the Dragons Fury felt underwhelming is because you mostly hit straif shots, you gotta hit with the center of the projectile, and then you start to out dps a heavy.

The Dragon’s Fury can do INSANE amounts of damage to people if you can aim with it. It doesn’t do a damage bonus against burning targets, it has a damage penalty against targets that aren’t burning. It does 75 per hit to buildings (making this amazing at destroying them) and the damage from the fire stacks with crits, dealing 225 on hit to a burning target. Of course, if not ignited by something else the only thing that will live through 2 crit fireballs is an overhealed Heavy. (Also it’s better to rely on the progress bar itself for fire damage numbers and not the scoreboard itself. Crit flares are bullet damage and don’t add to the total fire damage but it does add to the scoreboard damage.)

This ones tedious, sure, but Clearcutter (six axe kills in a single life) and Full Spectrum Warrior (ignite three enemies with the rainblower taunt) are way more difficult.

Nice vid man, I definitely wouldnt be able to play this much of one class for a week lol. Even if it was for a yt video. If you ever decide to play more pyro, I recommend this loadout: backburner, jet pack, back scratcher. Jetpack to get around the map and behind the enemy, and the back scratcher is very useful to stay alive longer, and since youre mostly away from medics and dispensers, the downside isnt that relevant. While the crit hitbox of the backburner can be janky, after some practice you generally know where to aim/position yourself. And the increased airblast cost definitely is a huge downside, but at the same time its also a fun element since it requires more thoughtful ammo management. If you know the map youre playing on very well, especially where health and ammo packs are, its definitely super fun and effective.

I think a lot of the Pyro hate comes from the misconception that Pyro is "easy" to play and do well with. But this sentiment largely disappears when people actually try to play Pyro against competent players. The infamous "W-M1" strategy is easily counterable by every combat class. You will only start reliably playing Pyro when you master unpredictable movement, airblast, and combos. Good players tend to hate Sniper more, because at higher levels of play, Sniper is much harder to counter than Pyro is.

Sniper gameplay remains the same at the start and end. Difference is the efficiency that snipers do it. Stand back, and shoot, eventually the good snipers will just learn their best position to shoot from, and if their team is also slightly competent and you lack a sniper who can kill them, you won't get anywhere.

Just some hours ago I played Harvest agaisnt flog pyro with a pocket medic, not sure what was his deal, but lets say, that my team got a little bit frustrated and expressed their feelings in various methods. Gotta love TF2.

Honestly airblast is one of my most favourite things about the flamethrower I would not change to any other weapon that has no airblast, It saved my life more than one time, also I am heavily against spawn camping on CTF maps, on capture the point or payload it's a different story but at least you get good amount of damage from spawn camping! The scorch shot is another favourite weapon I use whenever I feel like being annoying to the other team, the only pyro weapon I fear is the Phlog especially with the medic behind that pyro, I immediately kill the pyro when he finishes the taunt animation otherwise he could wipe out a team in a blink of an eye!

this is pyros hardest achievement "Full Spectrum Warrior", hands down the hardest Pyro achievement and hardest taunt-kill-related achievement. How to get: Ignite 3 enemies with the Rainblower's taunt (it's an AoE attack). No, not "kill". "Ignite".

22:19 A bit of Reserve Shooter history for those who don’t know: the Reserve Shooter used to be pretty overpowered on Pyro since you could mini-crit people you’ve airblasted. They’ve since nerfed the weapon and now it’s almost a complete downgrade. The only upside is a faster deploy speed.

The reason why the gas passer is bad in casual, pub, and comp is that it doesn't do that well. But in MVM, it's an absolute secondary for pyro. Especially if you're trying to make sure that you and your team are trying to not lose the last wave

hi, pyro main, my favorite load out is phlog, detonator, neon. detonator for movement and flanking, chip damage to build mmph, then flog bomb and dive out into friendlies, the neon is for memes. i basically play shitty diamond back gun spy, good times, requires alot of map knowledge and movement tech.

I think you should give the Detonator another shot at some point, its not supposed to fill the same role as the Flare Gun, its more of an in-between of it and the Scorch Shot, with bits of the Thermal Thruster. Its in a league of its own, really. You never used it (or at least it seemed that way) during this challenge, but by right clicking while a shot is travelling, you can detonate it. This means you can hit enemies behind cover, coat a group of players in afterburn, deal some nice splash damage, or even make the most of a missed shot. But, by far the most useful part of the Detonator (in my opinion) is the fact that, due to it being splash damage, you can use it to jump, like a Soldier or Demo can. Hold down your right click, crouch jump and fire, and you'll be sent flying in the opposite direction of wherever you're facing. I live and die by the Detonator.

I struggle with pyro because I don’t entirely know what to be doing with him. I mean, heavy, demo, and solider all are good at making pushes, Scout, Sniper, and Spy take out high value targets with ease, Medic and Engineer support the team in one way or another, and then there’s pyro. Maybe he’s a mix- He’s decent at pushing with airblast and afterburn damage,he can reflect rockets to support and protect the team, and he can completely block Ubers.

Pyro is basically the jack of all trades depending on the loadout. He supports and protects his team as a very aggressive support role. Stalling ubers, reflecting from engie's nest, and keeping spies away as a solid bodyguard, or give em a medic pocket to roll over the enemy team and scatter their lines with damage and weaken them for your team to pick off. With the jetpack you can be a roamer, diving into un-suspecting groups and getting picks, then jumping away if you time it all right.

I do have to say, I do think the editing in the demoman video was better, but still pretty good video. I do think you dropped the ball with the Detonator and Dragon's Fury here though. I'd also say the balls were dropped on the jokes department, but that doesn't really feel right seeing how immature they were.

Tf2 detects back stabs and back shots by your position and not where you aim. So if you aim at the side but are behind them, that's a crit. And what's considered behind is just a line in their player box you have to cross. Once you're over the line, the game thinks you are shooting their back regardless of where you aim on them
