Outside of the single-shot damage, this is a vastly different weapon from the Dragon's Fury. The DF encourages more aggressive plays with your extended range and increased damage on burning targets, this weapon encourages you to switch to the Dragon's Fury and start being useful.

Soory, but we don't have the pennies for a normal animator and modeler who could separate the canister from the model. If all jokes aside, the coder and I really couldn't find animators who could do something like this, so...

Just got me thinking how it would be nice if you could tell what flamethrower has hit you with the after burn effect, didn’t fire overlays? May be hard to notice but would be nice to know if you were hit with stock or degreaser

Beacause ots team fortress 2 classic... You can't, BUT you can use the pyro's scythe, which while holding while an enemy is on fire gives the user regeneration and you a crit charges a critical hit that can steal heath.
