yeh Med v Engie isn't fun for medics or engies because for medics you have no almost no hope of ever breaching the near invincible engie base that always appears. But for engies your options are rely on luck where you will almost certainly die or hide in the big base and wait 5 minutes

The Medic Vs Engie one is ok, but there isn’t much to do besides building dispenser forts and camping in the same area forever. Super Zombie Fortress (SZF) on the other hand, incorporates multiple zombie classes and special zombies along with multiple survivor classes. The maps usually follow a string of objectives in which you pick up better weapons as you go along, which I consider to be much better in terms of replay ability and having an active and dynamic role.

I tend to prefer game modes that are generally based on the base game with some notable differences in some mechanics. Stop that Tank and Super Zombie Fortress are great gamemodes that aren’t too different from the base game but have differences to make the gameplay unique.

List of game modes: 0:00 - Vs Saxton Hale (Or Freak Fortress 2 if you prefer) - a Gamemode where the entire server fights a single playing with the health and stats of a boss (FF2 handles custom bosses better but VSH has a better Saxton Hale model) 7:23 - Death Run - A gamemode where the entire server except one person runs through a death gauntlet as one person from the other team activates traps to try and kill said people; usually with a boss or kill reward at the end 8:45 - Warioware - Basically Warioware in TF2 10:27 - Zombie Fortress or Super Zombie Fortress - A gamemode in which the red team consists of engineers trying to build anything but a sentrygun to defend themselves until help arrives to escape the zombies and the blue team is a bunch of melee-only zombie medics who try to kill said engineers. If you die as an engineer you come back as a zombie 10:41 - Slender Fortress - Basically a 32 player slenderman game in tf2; the enemy is AI controlled

Fuck I feel old, Man, I grew up on saxton hale mode, that old rainy forest with that big crevasse and the control point in the centre, a full team of 24 mercs fighting for their lives up against saxton hale, Australian, CEO of Mann co, and the man who would beat the living hell outta you, as hale would yell "SCREW GRAVITY" while jumping around at heights soldiers could only dream of, o k, maybe it's not an OFFICIAL part of TF2, but god damn it all if it wasn't (and still is) the most fun and legendary game mode in TF2 history, well, at least for me, I'll take my bare knuckle excitement any day. SAXTON HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALE!

If you are looking for servers that are similar to VSH, you can try Freak Fortress, one i seem to have grown an affinity for is Fire Friendly, people can be nice, can be dicks, but there are bosses that are fucking insane, and every other month they add a new boss, most recent boss was Shovel Knight.
