@@maximusjoseppi5904You just stuffed five pounds of bs into a three-pound bag, and conveniently ignored over 150 years of history. Hammer-fired guns have proven their reliability, safety, and accuracy. The "average gun owner" frankly isn't much of a shooter of any kind of pistol. A lot of handgun owners MIGHT shoot one box of ammo a year. And if they are afraid of da/SA, it's because they're already in the mind-set of thinking striker-fired is "simple." I'm not a trigger-snob, and I'm a Glock-queer, but most striker-fired triggers are mediocre or worse. Couple that with what seems lots of anecdotal evidence of manyore AD/ND's from striker-fired guns, and people who don't shoot much SHOULD opt for revolvers and da/SA. Btw, first da/SA pistol I bought, the first 14-rounds were all DA. Twelve bullseyes and two in the 9-ring that were me, I could tell when I pulled them. The second mag of 14 rounds were ... 22 bullseyes, two in the 9-ring. If one learns basic shooting, results are going to be the same or better with da/SA.
@keithgraham95477 ай бұрын
@@maximusjoseppi5904 Actually, your post does imply all history of handguns has proven ONLY striker-fired is the one and only that a novice can pick up and be an expert. Yet, we see generally poor r sults from most shooters. And most new shooters are using striker-fired. Around the world, many LE and military still use hammer-fired. But the individual users have no say at all in what organizations change to periodically. Organizations select mostly on cost, replacement parts, and cost of ammo. If "immediate ability to shoot because of the trigger" was the criteria, the entire market would be hammer-fired SAO. About a month ago, I taught a young man to shoot who had never touched a firearm before. In 90 rounds, on three handguns, he had six fliers which would have still been hits. NO shots low-left. Everything solid chest hits, mostly shooting high. The last six shots were da/SA, 3 bullseye and 3 slightly high. It's not hard to pick up shooting da/SA. The Army taught it for 30 years. Apparently it's hard to find an instructor who can teach instead of be a smartass.

@@maximusjoseppi5904 Oh, I see. You're a liberal, and therefore much smarter than everyone else. You've d creed everyone else is too stupid to shoot anything other than a striker-fired pistol. Just like liberals say black people are too stupid to know how to get a driver's license or use the internet. Dude, people have been using hammer-fired weapons commonly since about 1860. The 1911 has a hammer and two safeties, but somehow millions of stupid people managed to shoot it. Somehow, millions more manage to shoot Beretta 92's, or SIG P226/229, or H&K's, or CZ's, or a bunch of other guns. You're just so self-centered, you think everyone else should be glad you're willing to take the time to tell us all how smart you are. Facts are indisputable. It's as easy to shoot hammer-fired weapons; they are as reliable or more so than strikers, and the usual determining factor in organizations is cost. Pretty much anyone can adapt to any halfway decent trigger within a hundred rounds. It might not be YOUR favorite, but people like you pretend only YOUR way works. History has documented otherwise

Any gun is going to require training and repetition. Any gun is extremely accurate. If rounds are not hitting the intended target, it's usually the user that is the cause. (God bless him!) With a 4" barrel and 17+1 capacity, it is a carry piece for me. The long grip was my only concealment issue, but fine tuning my holster, wing, and wedge mitigated the problem. I didn't start logging my rounds until it was well broken in, however, my best guess is it is very near the 50,000 mark. The only parts failure I have had is the head of the recoil assembly broke apart. That was a cheap and easy fix. I have been tempted to get a Langdon tricked out version, but this is my best shooting and favorite pistol. It is tuned perfectly for me. Why mess with perfection (at least near perfection for me).

@ctrusfive5268 The two big improvements are the decocker only and the trigger. The change to decock only is popping a ball bearing out once you disassemble what's needed. It is not technically difficult, but if you are not mechanically inclined,you might have some difficulties. There are a couple of great videos on KZbin that will walk you through it. You will want to have "roll pin punches", not regular shop punches, and a gunsmith or other light weight mallet/ hammer. Having replacement roll pins is a good idea, because you may deform one or more during dis/reassembly. These can all be found at a good hardware store or online. There are different levels of trigger work. Replacement of the trigger bar with thr magic coated Landon Tachtical one will definitely help. Again, videos will help you. Some videos describe other trigger work. Some are quick fixes that may not work the way it's described online. Some are valid and will get more complex, requiring skills you may not possess. Use good judgment about your abilities. Taking a shoebox full of gun parts to a gunsmith and saying "Please fix this" is both

I've owned the PX4 Compact for 8 years. The trigger pull requires practice and has a learning curve, but once mastered, transitioning to a striker-fired pistol like a Glock becomes much easier. I'm undecided about carrying it due to its size , however I find advantageous, particularly for safety. Additionally, the manual safety could provide an edge if the firearm were ever taken from me. Considering all this, I'm looking into getting a Micro Dagger C-1. Although holster options are limited, I appreciate its safety features and the reduced risk of negligent discharges.

easier to train and learn on a gun that has the same trigger pull every time.

I believe Micelluk recommends double action to train single and or striker systems ; I like the lack of training scars on racking the slide for dry fire - the transition to striker is seemless to me and I notice a difference- but I’ve never taken a class just an enthusiast who enjoys the content and carry when I can

The little known Grand Power K100 MK23 appears to be a good option for me. At my current skill level I may not see a difference, but perhaps a LT pistol is in my future once my skill level increases.
@fraudsniffer72807 ай бұрын
Grand Power in the house! A sleeper brand if ever there was one. I bought my Mk7 about a decade ago when J&G Sales was blowing them out for something like $269. After shooting it I quickly realized it’s easily a $600+ pistol. Beefy, but a great shooter and stone-cold reliable. More than 2,000 rounds and I’m still waiting for a malfunction. IMO the rotating barrel system of the PX4 and Grand Powers is vastly under appreciated for what it brings. Grand Power proves that market popularity isn’t necessarily commensurate with value and quality. Some pistol brands (Steyr is another example) are WAY better than market popularity would have you believe. For some reason I tend to be attracted to these pistols. Not necessarily to be different but because I’m ALL about value vs. “what everyone else is using.” High-quality sleeper pistols can often be found for a fraction of what inferior mainstream pistols sell for.

@@loudfastfood2625safer because you can keep a DASA firearm chambered with a round and hammer down but still be ready to pull that trigger as fast as possible when needed. A striker fired pistol, if chambered, has a very light trigger with very little trigger travel before a round is fired, making the potential for a negligent discharge more possible than with a chambered DASA FIREARM 👍

I bought my pX4 carry 2 a few weeks ago as soon as I saw it was available at Bass Pro. Ive been trying to get my hands on one of these for about a year . I liked the look and the fact it has a rotating barrel, but i did not want to spend too much $$ for the LLT treatment. This gun does feel great to shoot with minor felt recoil. Its is a great EDC rotation gun. When I first took it the range, I had numerous failure to feed, I was so disappointed. I did a little research and found other PX4 users having the same issue right out of the box. The problem seemed to be the lube the gun comes packaged in, this gun was basically dripping with oil out of the case. So I did as was recommended and cleand off all the original oil and applied a normal amount of lubricant. After that, the gun ran flawless.
