My Dad retired 40 years ago, and in retirement got into building static models from scratch of the planes he flew, guess for the boomers retiring these days modern home simulators are the thing, I know my Dad would probably have gotten into these had they been around. It’s really cool watching you fly virtually Capt, thanks 👍

@@FatherTime1958 To fully connect with your machine you should build your own custom PC dedicated to flight simming. In this case every single time when you switch on your customized computer it will feel truly special. ;)

I laughed so hard when you talked about the airbus. "I tend not to get involved with it." That also sums up my thoughts on it. I was curious about the A300 from ini though. I've heard good things and some minor bad ones too. Looks beautiful, possibly more of a looker than a flyer. EDIT: Later in the video you confirmed some of what I had already suspected about the 300-600 from Ini. Not surprised it didn't take kindly to this approach, I'm sure it's great for some folks and what they fly. Love the TFDi so far. It is amazing.

Such a marvellous plane, nothing looks like this with these six big LCD screens in one row with the fascinating EICAS (or ECAM), the pearlescent gear lever. I have analyzed the quality of the cockpit a bit this time, and it´s superb. The backup artificial horizon ball inside the instrument looks ultra-high-polygon perfectly round shaped, instead of an ugly low-polygon hexagonal or octagonal horizon ball inside - so far only the Fenix Airbus is the only other plane with a backup ADI in such high polygon count. The other details inside the cockpit like the circuit breaker 3D models, the seats and seat headrests are also a high polygon 3D model and with superb sharp and crisp textures. Sooner or later the outside 3D model will get a lot of polishing too, similar to the Fenix V2. I hope more classic jets from the eighties will get released like the 747, my personal favorite the 757 is already made in very promising quality by BlueBird Simulation. On the more modern side the iFly 737 MAX screenshots look outstanding, and the FlyByWire A380 too. After all these years only having the Fenix Airbus finally there is a new wave of interesting airliners rolling in! :)

I'm so happy i found your channel. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and teaching us stuff. But we really need to get you a new computer. The stutters from the "big Queenstown package" was hilarious but i bet its very annoying for you. With frame generation its a whole new sim and you can crank up the settings and its buttery smooth. Its expensive, but totally worth it. Again, thanks!

@@FatherTime1958 Nice, thanks for featuring NZ. I haven't had time for flight sims for a number of years since I started my own career in aviation (CPL-H), enjoying your content thank you. NZQN - NZMF is a great VFR flight in something a lot smaller. Fly down the coast from Queenstown and up Milford Sound to the Airport.

I have live-streamed, but I have to be honest, I enjoy my Discord way more when it comes to interaction. Streaming would absolutely blow up my subs, but I found it very stressful, and it often corrupted my “lesson-plan”.

Can’t wait for this beast of a machine to release on Xbox I am getting a pc around September so my sim experience will be better, and also getting the Thrustmaster Boeing yoke and the honeycomb bravo throttle for Christmas. The MD-11 is one of my favorite planes, my favorite is the A350 and second is the 777. I wish I could fly the MD-11 when I become I pilot but it’s gonna be retired by that point unfortunately. Also just wanted to tell you that I love your videos and watch them ALL of the time 🤣🙃. I’m gonna join the Air Force and then go into commercial flying, I’m probably gonna fly cargo or tanker in the Air Force. my dream airline is either Delta, Air France, or Qatar Airways. And also my Grandfather was a ATC at George W. Bush intercontinental from either 1986 or 1987 to 2015 or 2016. His Callsign was “MudBone”.

As an MD-11 pilot, do you consider this aircraft a good addon? I'm reading a lot of people complaining and calling it garbage, but I trust your word more.
@FatherTime1958
@FatherTime1958 Ай бұрын
@@Here_Up I honestly do consider it to be a good add-on. Naturally, you probably need to set the pitch sensitivity to -50 to -60, as it is currently too sensitive. I fly with mine on default, but I’ve been testing it for 10 months. The MD-11 is an inherently different flight logic to understand when you’ve been flying Boeings or even Airbus’s, but once you get used to it, and it does require studying and practice, you’ll love it. The TFDI team is committed to improving the current model, just as PMDG will continue to improve their 777. However, the 777 is an easier plane to pick up and fly. It is in real life, and it is here. I hope that presents itself as an honest answer. There is a lot of MD-11 talk in the TFDI Discord site and on my Discord, and people are helping each other understand the airplane.

Hi! For the frame drop during final approach, what helped me out a lot was to delete the rolling cache of msfs and the nvidia shader cache as well. Maybe it's worth trying? Loving the video's though! As a new sim pilot, I'm curious why it's necessary to be configured so early? I'd be you'd be burning a lot of fuel with all that drag out!
@FatherTime1958
@FatherTime1958 Ай бұрын
I just deleted the cache. As for the early configuration, I was pretty clear in the video. There are many situations in the real world, when the cockpit becomes intense, the task becomes clear, and the crew members both know that a curving and arcing RNAV approach NEVER has fuel conservation in the air, but rather extremely early stability to minimize the possibility of a go-around into mountainous terrain( even in VMC). If you were flying the airplane in these conditions, and even remotely hinted at fuel conservation, the Captain would take the airplane or order an early, stabilized approach. Love ya buddy, but sometimes the real-world dudes take over.

Good video. Let me ask how this plane affects the msfs frame rate. I noticed in this video and in Mustafa's video that there is a lot of stuttering and reduce frame rate.
