As a former scooter commuter who put as much as 600 miles on my bike in a day, to say they’re only good for trips of a few miles is pretty short sighted. Our club would do weekend trips of 100+ miles per day that included bikes as small as 125cc.

I'm a very happy ADV150 owner. The Aussie version has dual disc brakes, no park-brake, and an idling stop switch. I've crashed mine once in a patch of sand on a mountain trail, but otherwise it has held up very well during anything I've thrown at it so far. I feel absolutely spoiled by the under-seat storage. I'm a scooter convert now.

I like that the manufacturers are bringing more entry level products to market. Its a critical move for the future of moto's as less young people are riding than in the past. To address this trend they need the price point and ease of use to be on the lower end of the spectrum. I think the ADV 150 is a move in the right direction.

I have this bike, done about 5000 kilometers on it. Had 2 scooters before and a 250 Kawasaki boss motorbike. Not super experienced but an ok rider. Have to say, the Honda ADV 150 is the best by far. I bought it in Thailand and have gone on long trips, on very twisty mountain roads, long twisty, and very rough roads. And great LED lights. It really is a fantastic, fun bike to ride, even with a passenger. The bike comes with a rear disk brake in Thailand. Great in town too, . It's never going to compete with a Africa twin, but it isn't meant to.

Hard to judge your riding skills and ability to being reasonable on maneuvering of this scooter. It is a scooter and not meant to be ridden in the standing position on floor boards. In Thailand there is no parking hand brake lock on the ADV-150 or the PCX-160. I think they are imported. The PCX-160 seat is 1” lower and better for commuting on bitumen roads, that caused my Thai lady to choose the PCX-160. My old PCX-150 would wind up to 70 MPH. New one not run in. Both Bikes new, around USD $3,700 with extras on the road, drive away. The ADV-150 is smoother on the throttle, I think it is higher geared. Both our new bikes came with extras including metal foot plates which really give great foot grip. The worst aspect of scooters is the lack of foot pegs to stand on for balance and handling on rough ground. The second is wheels too small and hard short travel suspension. This is the great improvement of the ADV-150. Superior suspension for rough road handling. The fully automatic CVT transmission makes riding so easy. I was told the left hand is the dual brake and the right hand is the rear only brake. The lack of ABS on the back allows for handling options on dirt tracks, but I am not an advanced off road rider. I will have to test this. I cannot read my handbook, it is in Thai, ไทย 🇹🇭. No English handbook available.

@@rickybobbydastar6534 My PCX 150cc winds up to 120kph or 75 mph. They are fast to 90 which is our speed limit. I generally do not ride fast. our new PCX 160cc has more go than the 150cc but it is my lady's bike so I haven't opened it up. Thai roads have lots of traffic, from very sow to crazy fast. i think Honda is right to speed limit these bikes, 110 is very fast on one. For a fast highway scooter the Honda Forza 300 is better and more comfortable.

One thing that I might add for this scooter is that this is a design from the Honda Thailand. So this scooter is more aimed to be used in high-density, rural areas of the South East Asian towns with little bumpy roads here and there. It's definitely feel perfect to commute with it here in South East Asia, though it's such an weird, experimental combination between rugged and smooth riding. But hey, it does what it does. Especially when its rugged "features" will seem redundant on wide and flat roads.

I have one of these for fun an scooting around the Island (I live on a barrier island east of Savannah). It's just as much fun as my Kawa Concours 14! It's not a dedicated off road bike, but It will do basic trailwork. Nothing impressive, but you can take off road to a certain extent. It is a fun little bike and I highly recommend it for around town riding. "It appeals to a much younger crowd..." I'm 58...my fiance is 37...a younger crowd indeed.

This ADV150 was never designed for interstate use. Most interstates have a mandatory Motor cubic inch size. Modifications will not change your registration to Policemen 🤔😬

They need to make a 600cc or 700cc version in the USA California to be exact. I'll be first in line to buy it

I'm just wondering why Honda put a drum brake at the rear side for the NA market where it has both disc brakes on southeast asian market.

It's weird that US don't get the rear disc brake version. Any reason for that?

I believe it is because they had to do a parking brake and it was cheaper to do with drum. kzbin.info/www/bejne/maCtfZyqZbSEjJY

I like the cool design for this scooter except the signal lights. I'm so afraid for awhile they will be broken.

Sorry..Can't agree that the PCX is ugly or that it's for old people. When the design came out it was innovative and it shared its headlight with the most expensive sport bike. The ADV is an Adventure bike interpretation of that. As far as it being "as aggressive as you're gonna get on a scooter ", I'd advise you to look at the ADV 750. Or the Yamaha XMax, etc. Not to mention the large Suzukis

The worst part is the bike is just a loaner for the review! Reminds me of my son. Couldn’t get to the store and back on my Honda silverwing scooter without wrecking it into a parked car!!! Seriously? Oh well, it still runs fine and I got so much sympathy from my wife that she bought me a brand new 2020 Harley Davidson Iron 883 I had been drooling over! Can’t complain about that.
