My 2011 DL650 still running strong with 50k miles. Still worth as much as I paid for it in 2014. Gets 55mpg and does 0-60 in under 4 seconds. Has enough room for the wife to hop on and aftermarket options are bountiful. Slapped some all terrain tires on it and exploring the back country roads is even more enjoyable.

After much research my wife and i bought an mt07 each last year for our 20th wedding anniversary. We live in Australia which is pretty spread out. Weve got eldest son who lives 1500km from us and our daughter and grandaughters are 600 in the opposite direction so we wanted to make our journeys to see them about the journey as well. We cant believe how good they are and how much we love riding them. Mine is a 2020 HO model that had 1800kms on it when i got it and hers is a 2019 that had 4000kms. Weve put almost another 20 000 on them since last may and have loved every single second on them. You get so much bang for your buck with mt07s. Perfect power, reliability and so god damn agile which is perfect for the twisty, mountainous routes we take whenever possible. Another thing i dont see mentioned anywhere is just how good the fuel range is. Between 350 to 400kms to its 14 litre tank. Great to see them mentioned in your vid. I feel even more validated 😉

Before 28 years , a mechanic told me that the engine of a Goldwing ,starts to consume a very little amount of oil ,after 800.000 kilometers.I personaly had a BMW K 100 RT,1987 model with a fuel injection system .K -series BMW engines are one of the most reliable engines in the world.

My wife bought a 1996 GoldWing for 1k. It has only 1665 miles on her. Looking forward to putting many miles and memories on her as the days get warmer here. 😊

Best Sportster to get will be the 2004-2006 XL1200c. These come from the factory with carb, Rubber mounted motor, XB heads with Bee Hive Springs and 512 cam. All Buell parts. This bike makes over 80hp and is a blast to ride! Very reliable and fast for sure. 2007 went to FI. Bummer as the FI bikes do not respond as well to simply power mods such as intake and exhaust.

80 hp? Really?

The only problem with a used mt07 is that it's usually owned by young adrenaline junkies who really don't take care of thei rbikes

One of the best is the SV1000S. 100hp, 70ft/lbs torque, slipper clutch, relatively light (450#), fully adjustable f/r suspension, dead reliable v-twin engine. $2-4k for nice examples.

Harley guys will say an SV 650 is a good starter bike or a girls bike, and a 1200 sportster is too nuch for a beginner, even though the SV 650 has 10 more HP, somehow, with half the displacement

20 years ago, I bought a brand new SV650 as my first bike and the only problem I had with it in 4 years of ownership was the harassment I got from HD riders. Now I have 7 bikes, 3 of them HDs, and I’ve been in a club for over 10 years. Any time someone applies to our club, I tell them our first rule is that riders are riders no matter what they ride, and we respect all riders. The second rule is that the quickest way to get blacklisted from any club in our state is to forget the first rule.

A used MT 07 for 5000 bucks? Good luck. Cheapest bike could be a SV 650.

1st 3 years Gold Wing Standard made in Japan. Best bike ever!. Also the Road King. Rubber mounted motor with the EVO are the ones to get. Also the K100 K12 Flying bricks. BMW bikes are still the best. Made in West Berlin. BMW cars made in East Berlin. Not the same at all. BMW bikes are great!!

I bet I can change your mind about the Harley sound thing. Check out the vids of my VTX 1300 after I installed Cobra pipes… This sound is why Harley tried to sue Honda 😂.

Aren't you talking about a certain year of honda shadows? Was it just one generation of bikes that were like that? What's the year range, I want to buy one of those.
@vtxfan10 ай бұрын
@@NotAffiliated it was the zero-offset crank pin design in the Shadow ACE 1100 that originally made the sound that HD didn’t like. The VTX 1300 is larger displacement but uses the same zero offset crankshaft pin design, same sound.
@NotAffiliated10 ай бұрын
@@vtxfan Well that explains it. I looked up the VTX 1300 and I though "that doesn't look like the harley sounding honda I saw before" but the ACE came first and that's what I was familiar with. I"m gonna get me one of those. Thanks for the tip.

Used MT07 are stupidly expensive. They start at €5k here for 9 year old 50.000km+ examples. That's still more than 70% of what it cost new. Or more than 60% of a current new MT07. The're great bikes, but not a great deal used.
