We’ve had Delicas in Canada for a very long time since we only have a 15 year import rule. I bought my first Delica in 2008 (1993 L300). There are TONS of suppliers and importers here in British Columbia. If you need parts just search for places in BC. Combined with the US/Canadian exchange rate, your parts will be way cheaper and easier to get.

I love both of these vans. They hold a very special place in my heart. The Kei Vans are pretty common "everybody's-go-to-vehicle" back home in the philippines, they all are Known by one name even tho they are made by different companies. They're called "Multicabs". We had about 3-4 in the family, made by diahatsu, suzuki and mitsubishi Lol. That delica is an amazing van. I used to work as a nurse in one of the Coal mine company in Cebu and its in the most mountainous part of cebu, and i drove a modified version of this and made it into an offroad ambulance. It worked really well for us and were able to reach areas with patients that no ordinary ambulance would have dared. What i drove was an automatic transmission one with all the oldschool 4x4 stuff. I loved the suspension on these, yeap it maybe playful but i loved it but not so much for the rear passenger 😂. I loved the commanding seat height.

While the word "Delica" may be interpreted as a short form of "Deliver Car" in some contexts, it's important to note that the name's origin, as officially stated by Mitsubishi, is derived from "Delicatessen," as I mentioned in my previous response. The "Deliver Car" interpretation could be a play on words or a colloquial usage by some enthusiasts or individuals, but it may not be the official or intended meaning of the name by the manufacturer. "Delica" conveys the idea that this JDM car is something out of the ordinary and versatile, much like the items you might find in a delicatessen.

Imported a '94 Sambar van. Fulltime 4wd, supercharged, 6spd (5+super low). Was a very sturdily engineered machine and looked very cool but, ya, that little 660cc engine was revving like mad at 90km/h. I'd be in 4th before I cleared an intersection. @theakh4238 Жыл бұрын
@@jdmcarandmotorcycle Its funny because Mazda used the Mitsubishi G6 in a few things but went on their own with the diesel. The first gen MPV has Mazda's only iron block v-6 ever made. But its mated to a Nissan transmission from the Pathfinder with the transfercase dropped on the opposite side. We never got the Marvie, only the B- series truck it was based upon. Its a shame, but the US car makers forced higher import taxes on Japanese light trucks because the US manufactures couldn't compete. This put the cost higher than some full-sized domestic trucks. It killed the Japanese made small truck market. It was.very intentional.

Which is exactly why they sell all over the world but 6 litre American V8s with OTT horsepower dont. All you need is a 2 litre diesel Land Rover with 150 bhp with plenty of torque. Off road it’s all about torque not Insane BHP. I once drove a American Hummer off road. Thinking I was in for a treat, it was the biggest anti climax I’ve ever experienced. It looked good but began and ended there. It’s off road ability was rubbish, and I don’t know if your aware Hummers are horrendous for toppling over. I was surprised given how wide they are, but the event driver who was in the Hummer with me warned me how top heavy they are. Coincidentally one guy nearly toppled it on his go. I was probably no more than a 20% incline and the thing nearly went straight over. Total overrated rubbish.
