Bubba, you’re truly blessed with this incredible machine! I own a 1999 standard cab XLT with a 4.2 L V6 engine and a standard transmission. What makes it even more remarkable is that it boasts power windows, power locks, power mirrors, captain’s seats, and cruise control-all these luxuries come standard. Although it lacks leather seats, which I personally don’t mind, it still has a comfortable ride. On the other hand, I also have a 2005 F150 regular cab. While it’s a regular cab with four doors, it features two regular-sized doors and two mini doors for easy access behind the seats. Since it’s an STX model, it’s the base model, but it looks exceptionally well-maintained. The previous owner had the foresight to install 18-inch Ford sports wheels with 35 tires, giving it a sporty appearance. The underside of the truck is also in excellent condition, having been repainted at some point, which maintains its shiny finish. It’s equipped with a 4.2 L V6 engine and a four-speed automatic transmission. Additionally, it comes with a comprehensive towing package, including transmission coolers, a factory-installed hitch, and electrical connections for towing.

What a nice truck!! I have always liked this generation of F150s. On the Ranch we had several 7700 models. They were like today’s payload packages and had 7 studs for the wheels. The 5.4 was a decent motor but a little hard on fuel. We also had some base XLs with the 4.6. I actually preferred that motor over the 5.4. It was more responsive (not more powerful) in and around the yard and through the corrals. It even towed decent, but the 5.4 excelled at towing. This would have been my dream truck back then!!! Now you have one!! Well bought and in such nice condition, if something like that presented itself to anyone, they should snap it up!! The SuperCabs look so much better than the SuperCrews still now, but this was even more prominent back then. You definitely have a truck to be proud of!! Thanks for sharing.

Mine was sold under the pretense of little to no rust but only about 5 months in I found the driver side rear quarter panel bubbled through from a really bad patch job and what made me sell the truck was a brake line rusting through and then bursting when going down a hill that ended in a lake. But...didn't stray too far. Picked up a 2010 for about what you got yours for...only difference is it just had 155,000 miles.

Even though it's older than the truck, it still sorta fits, especially with a tape deck. Pretty sure that was the top trim level for the F150 at the time also, the eddie bauer packages were higher, but they were only on the explorer? And didn't really offer too much more in terms of features over a lariat, just sorta paint and seat stitching on top of a top spec lariat? I want to look that up now... My favorite trucks are the 1997-2003 F-150s as they are not bulky nor square and they look modern. Your truck looks nearly brand new! I have a 2000 F-150 7700-series (it is a factory light 3/4-ton model with 7-bolt wheels). As for having a floor shifter for the transfer case, that is silly! The dash mounted transfer case switch is the best! I have 166,000 and use it for snow plowing without issue. A floor shifter simply wastes floor space. Remove your ugly aftermarket steering wheel cover, it makes the steering wheel too thick! Besides, your truck came with a factory installed leather steering wheel cover. As for your running boards, I like them as the design of them lends well to the design of the truck body. An old-man looking running board are the straight extruded aluminum (or aluminum diamond plate) that you buy at the farm supply store that have been available since the early 1980s. Perhaps somebody sprayed Armor-All on the rubber step which would make it very slippery.

I bought new, a 98' STX reg. cab short wide bed. Had it for 14 years. Same wheels as your truck. Put SVT Lightning wheels and tires on it for awhile. Had 94K on it when I traded/gave it in (-:

I just bought that exact same truck with the same paint for 2400 bucks, not in nearly as good of shape, but I looooooooove it.

i DID LIKE YOU FOUND ME A 2003 gmc Sierra from an elderly man and its been good. I almost got one just like that one too with same miles, but they wanted a bit too much and would not come down. I made a good fair offer and they did not take it. Later on after I got the GMC I saw they dropped the price and sold it for what I offered the A-Holes!

You did well, it's a nice body style but I have another preference,...who cares, it's what YOU like so that's all that matters. That's a rare find indeed to find a 'babied' vehicle these days is, as I said, rare. I had a 2000 model STX and, I agree, those 'running boards are downright dangerous, it's very easy to slip on those and bust your shins. ( I too am amazed tat Ford hasn't had those removed; not enough law suits, guess ) You gotta get rid of that little restrictive o.e.m. exhaust. Getting a set of dual Flowmaster's is a good idea, that system should open up your MPG by at least 1% (hahaha), because with that 'new ' sound it'll be difficult to keep your foot off the loud pedal, I'm thinking. I do like the color scheme on this. My vote,..... you get a Thumbs Up here.

Hey thanks for all the GREAT comments. When I first got the truck EVERYONE who tried to get in it slipped on the running boards including my mom but that’s a given. And I can’t wait to get some duals. Cheers

@@kylehamm7287 You're welcome! But I do like trucks and this is one of them. Looking at that slippery leather seating is another point that needs to addressed, I mean if it were my truck. I'd take it to a upholstery shop and see if they can make some changes for you. There could be a bit of a safety concern here too with that slippery seating. If you had to apply the brakes quickly, you (or your passenger ) could very easily slide off onto the floor, not nice. Anyway that's enough from me, enjoy your ride, and yes, I'm envious! LOL!

My parents had one of these when I was very young, it rusted out pretty quick.

Not crazy on this year of truck but it made me appreciate it so much more after this video! Great truck

Nice truck. Since it has a Buc-ees sticker on the back window, I'd say it is from Texas, which would explain the lack of rust.

Stickers are St Louis Blues and a “You Betcha” decal from another KZbin channel I like. Truck was in Indiana all its life and I live on the Illinois side of St Louis. Tough to find anything here no rusted out
