It's very reliable too, never broke down and I have never, ever, once got it stuck in snow. in 2wd it might slip around on the all-seasons but as soon as 4wd kicks in, it hauls ass and doesn't even care about the snow. Love it so much I named it Hank. Hoping to get countless more miles out of this. And from what I hear, I will. Now, I haven't driven or owned a new TB, obviously. But given they ruined the iconic size, stance, aggressive and determined look in the front, gave it a 3 cylinder, and made it relatively small, I don't think the new TB is something I'd ever want to buy. I like my cars to match my personality and Hank does that very well. Hell I took it down to NY last week, then went to NJ, then back to NH and 1, it barely used as much gas as I thought it would. 2, still runs and drives perfectly fine with no issues or changes. It's surprisingly amazing on gas... The person I followed to NY was terrible at keeping a consistent speed and there was also plenty of traffic, but through the whole trip, I only used about 3 and a half quarters of the tank. I got 20 bucks in while I was in NJ, and had it filled in NH before the trip. it honestly surprised me. Even right after I bought the thing, I took it to Maine for a long trip. 4 days, we drove all over Maine, more than 15 hours of driving every day. God knows how many miles we did. But it held up strong and took it. Overall, I love the old TB. I don't think I'd expect the same reliability in the new one as there is in the old. But that's how it usually is with vehicles anyways.

No clue why they made the blazer bigger than the equinox which was the trail blazers replacement but then they made the trailblazer smaller than both. I think they wanted to replace the trax but then decided to sell both.
@jacobyo994 жыл бұрын
The name trailblazer implies that it’s an upgrade from the “regular” blazer. Not sure what they were thinking
@jamesbeaman63374 жыл бұрын
The equinox was actually made at the same time as the older Trailblazer (started in 2005) and is the answer to Tommy’s question about which crossover was the one in Chevy’s line that was smaller than it at the time. So I wouldn’t call it the replacement for the Trailblazer since it overlapped it by 4 years.
@jacobyo994 жыл бұрын
halo hunter the 2005 Equinox was much, much larger than the Tracker... it was more of a replacement for the 97-05 Blazer. The 2009 Traverse replaced the Trailblazer EXT with the 3rd row

The Equinox replaced the Blazer, not the Tracker or Trailblazer. The Traverse is closest to the original Trailblazer, just a crossover

I've got about 185,000 miles on my '08 Trailblazer and it's great! Everything works like it should (though I've upgraded the head unit and speakers). With an actual 4x4 system and a G80 locker in the rear, the chassis is significantly more capable than the front bumper - especially in snow. 2 winters ago I got a foot of snow and it didn't bat an eye.

My first car was a 2002 Trailblazer LTZ had it from 2008 to about 2012. Gas guzzler though, avg about 14 mpg with recession gas prices around $3gal. Engine always sounded like it was struggling to get up to spreed. Nice leather interior, sunroof, lots of luxury features for the time being almost top of the line. I do miss it but the gas prices among other things during the time I had it made me despise it. Lost it about 125k miles when I got clipped at highway speeds and it flipped over. Lot of memories in that car.

Best I've gotten was 21 MPG - which is actually not bad for this SUV lol. My 2018 Jeep Compass is getting 27.8 MPG right now for comparison sake and our Telluride has hit over 30 MPG. I also have a 2008 Saturn Aura 3.5 V6 that I've had for almost 10 years now with 105k miles and still love driving it too. The new Blazer and Trailblazer are trendy, but long live the 90s & 2000s!

Chevy had the Tracker, which was discontinued in 2003 I think. Then there was the S10 Blazer in 2 and 4-door which was discontinued in 2005. The Equinox was available with AWD and was smaller than Trailblazer but was a unibody mall crawler. Frankly, I wouldn't take the old Trailblazer that far into the weeds. I know they need a little vehicle to compensate for the money maker in the trucks for CAFE crap, but call it a Fiesta or a dart or something not a Trailblazer it is a mall blazer. Kids sat in the back watching videos while the miles flew by.... and now it's been through 2 high schoolers as their back & forth vehicle to school & sports. One more is going to learn on it and drive it through her HS years. YES - it burns a lot of fuel & oil which is not a plus..... but, EVERYTIME I get something stuck, this thing gets me out of trouble.... can't beat 4 Low on the 4WD. This thing has pulled my 2500HD + a 10,000 lb fifth wheel out of trouble... more times than is intelligent to admit. GM did this one right from my experience.
