Old school for me as well. Often thought of a mash up between a XJ (4 door) and a Comanche SB to get a retro Gladiator ish Jeep.

I had a Comanche back in 86, good little truck. I opted for the four-cylinder fuel injection because the carbureted Chevy V6 ran so horribly. I’ll take a Comanche any day

That 4 banger had more HP than that crappy GM V6 too .

I like old school because they are easier to work on. Which I try to do most of my own work.

That is a gorgeous Comanche! I’d take that thing over the new one any day of the week!

Back in the 80s they could atleast make a clutch that didn't overheat, and a frame that didn't bend.

@@ZacharySolomon0429 don't know about that one i will have to look it up. My dad had a 70's jeep wagoneer when i was a kid that was awesome. Would love to have one of them.

The Comanche will probably be around another 20 years, whereas the Gladiator will be scrap due to the high cost of maintenance after warranty and/or an expensive computer problem.

Old school. My first truck was a 1984 Nissan 720 that was re built from the ground up . The Simplicity and honesty of trucks of that era it's something I look forward to again when I purchase a vehicle to rebuild in the future

I wish I had a comanche. More than a gladiator 🤷🏻♂️

I laughed when he said that the old Comanche was very heavily worked. That one looks like it was only driven by an old lady to get to church on Sundays. He obviously doesn’t know what a Heavily Worked truck looks like after 20 years. That Comanche is beautiful!

Love the Comanche. I’m wondering if they ever made a high output version of the Comanche. The HO 4L in the Cherokee with 5 speed was a sleeper for its day.
@aaronthompson97715 жыл бұрын
Now you’re talking a real unicorn, the H.O. came out in 91, they only made something like 2,000 Comanche’s that year.

The Camanche isn't the winner because it costs 45K less, it's the winner because it's design is iconic, simplistic, and beautiful, and because the truck itself is durable, reliable, and practically unkillable

Agreed, they're two very different vehicles meant for very different things... that being said, i personally find the older style more charming.. but that's based more on nostalgia then factual reasons.

I've owned a Peugeot. I was warned, but still i tried. Would never buy a car that has Peugeot parts in it. Maybe they make great designs but definitively terrible engineering.

Jeep is owned by Fiat.
@jaymase37354 жыл бұрын
@@emanuelnamseth1469 Very aware- Fiat owns Puegot also. Puegot and Renault were involved in the worst parts of Jeep, before Chrysler purchased them for the 1988 model year. Fiat has completely left the larger Jeep models to be entirely handled and created by Chrysler's Jeep team. The smaller Jeeps currently produced are however, are almost all rebadged Fiats. Better to stick with the 90's 4.0l Jeeps or larger newer Jeeps, like the Grand Cherokee, Gladiator, Wrangler, and the new upcoming Grand/ Wagoneer.
@jaymase37354 жыл бұрын
@@PavelNr1 Actually that is what they do. French cars in general are almost purely about Design and Inovation. They do not use their resources to make cars that are easy to work on, or that are reliable.
