The Land Cruiser is the epitome of stealth wealth; some people don't want to gloat about how much money they make or have saved up. To me, the LC is the superior choice if I had to buy between the two as a die hard Toyota fan. The suspension in the Toyota is more durable, and has KDSS, and smaller wheels for off-roading. Good luck off-roading in the LX with those 21 inch rims and no, the hydraulic isn't a substitute for the dedicated off-road stuff in the LC. The LX is a great overall vehicle; and I love it, but in my perfect driveway, I would have an off-road SUV like the LC, and then a dedicated luxury one, specifically to me, Lincoln Navigator. Luxury on-road and luxury off-road!

Joeys Cleaning Lady yes you can and from what I have seen the Lx starts around 89k the land cruiser doesn't start that high up there's a 5k difference in start up or Base prices. The Lx can go all the way up to 100-105k the land cruiser doesn't go further than 90k. There's a price difference and the Lx is the better vehicle for luxury and tech, don't mind these guys. Even the graphics and quality of the screen is top notch on the Lx and rivals anything else out there. The land cruiser graphics isn't on the same level. All they complained about is the use or how intuitive is it. That in my opinion is a personal and subjective experience. There are people who have stated it took them a few days to get a hang of the Infotainment system and after that they thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

In terms of sheer looks, the LX has it (For me), but to be honest, neither one really look like something you'd WANT to take off road. Most people buy something more off-road rugged, and not a tank (in terms of weight). Modern cars are really heavy, Luxury cars more so. Both of them are more suited for mall crawling and maybe towing a small trailer for camping on a camp ground. Even with air/hydraulic suspension lifts, most people will probably be using them for hauling family, on highways, lol. The old Land Cruisers, sure, they're just like Jeeps and Defenders, but the new one just looks like a mall crawler. Nissan has the same problem with the new Pathfinder, they make them glorified minivans instead of offroaders.

This configuration is amazing off-road and beats anything available to the public.....sadly

A used LX570 (with proper wheels and tires installed after purchase) is the way to go. Shopping for a later year J200, you will see that LX570s are noticeably more numerous and many thousands of dollars less expensive for better condition trucks compared to a Land Cruiser, as Lexus sold multiple times as many LXs compared to number of LCs by Toyota (year by year). The AHC works great on the LX, it just needs proper wheels and tires. We looked at several Land Cruiser 200s, but the true cost made the decision much easier for a clean LX570. Very similar vehicles and both are incredibly capable- You can't go wrong either way.

Most of the concessions to luxury on the LX actually make it less like a Landcruiser in the sense that they reduce off road performance and reduce reliability. The adjustable suspension, for example. NO serious overlander has any use for this, and the reliability risk of air suspension makes it a no-go. LIkewise with the running boards and bumpers the kill off road ground clearance and capability. Toyota might have left some LC DNA in the LX, but making the LX merely *as capable* as the LC requires a lot more $$ and aftermarket parts.

Late to the party on this one, but here is my observation. The chances of seeing a new Land Cruiser on a Toyota dealer lot is infinitely small compared to the chance of seeing a LX on a Lexus dealer lot. If it's on the lot or the lot of a close dealer you have a higher chance of getting it for under MSRP. I would drive either especially because the differences are pretty minor. If you don't like the front end on one throw an aftermarket bumper on it. Don't like the suspension add some coil overs. At the best part of $90k the cost of changing a couple of things is pretty insignificant.

Amusing to see two KZbin talking heads whose videos I like together. One thing not mentioned in the video is that the 2016+ LX has stop and go adaptive cruise control. The Toyota doesn’t do stop and go (full speed range in Toyota parlance). To me that’s important.

They do in Australia.

What's offered in Australia on the VXL and Sahara trims is "Active Cruise Control". On the spec page they cite "high speed Active Cruise Control" [1] which is explained on another page as active from 25 km/h on up [2]. AUS "high speed ACC" corresponds to the non-AUS market's terms of Dynamic Range Cruise Control [3] (or in Lexus-USA-speak "high-speed DRCC" [4]). The one with stop and go is Full Speed Range Dynamic Range Cruise Control (== "all speed range ACC" in AUS, or in Lexus-USA-speak "All-speed DRCC"). This full speed/all speed version is what's on US-market Lexus LXs but not LC200s [3,4]. I can't make heads or tails of the lexus.com.au site but imagine it's the same. Just bought a 2019 Land Cruiser 200 ZX with only 4,000 miles on it. 50K USD here in Japan, pretty good deal?

In the US it is worth it to get the LX for the comfort, but here in my country an LX costs $80k more than a land cruiser, and msrp starts at $230k for an LC

In my country, we get a Land Cruiser with Air Suspension and all the exact features of the LX. I don't care. I'd still choose the Land Cruiser

I rather get the lx 570 better looking more luxury, and still can take it off road with some modifications.

People call it the Land CRUSHER for a reason...it has balls of titanium.

LC200 owner here. Some of us can’t afford the appearance of buying a Lexus in our jobs. When a colleague buys a BWM costing 1/2 as much and gets comments about his luxury car and the big boss drives a Toyota, the choice is pretty simple. Also, the grille on the Lexus is fugly.

Absolutely agree, the lights and outside appearance on the LX are very tacky, looks like it belongs in Singapore with a bobbing head dog on the dash...The inside however is quite smart and classy.

Actually, the biggest enemy of LC and LX570 in North America is winter salt corrosion. As to the 2021 model, the difference a buyer should care is wheel, 18inch vs 20 or 21.

Something that helps is the name. The land Crusier is so much more expensive then the Lexus now lmao.

For aggressive look i go for land cruiser but for a rich and fancy look i go for Lexus simple is that

city people who know nothing about offroad prefer the LX. People who are experienced in offroad and have decent taste in cars know the Cruiser is way better

Ok, only failing in LX for overlanding is it’s range per tank and high octane gas it needs for 5.700cc engine. Perfect LandCruiser is Diesel engine and extended range tank out of the producer!

Although I love the banter between 2 people I respect, Alex wins this one in my opinion (sorry Roman). The Lexus is a higher end version of the Toyota. BOTH great SUV's, but the Lexus edges out the Toyota when it comes to luxury. If you don't care for luxury then go for the Toyota.

you miss a very importent point the land cruser screen tuch control more comforable and more practical but the versus lexus mouse screen control is really so risky when you drive in speed high road its bad idea

What do you mean similarly priced? The LX570 costs almost twice as much as the Land Cruiser LC200 in my country. The LC200 is around $90,000 here. I can have an LC200 and an RC-F here for the same price as one LX570.

If you show up at the country club in your Lexus, they'll ask where your Range Rover is.

Im a old lover of Toyota Land cruiser but Lexus 570 is also not bad. When you you are inside of it actually you feel little feeling of very comfortable land cruiser.
