Took one out on Outlaw trials in West Virginia yesterday. Can't believe how smooth it rode and how good it went. Never had a problem on a 6 hour ride. Amazing machine

I use my 19 Teryx 4 regularly on trails with my family of 4. I've used it with 250+ lb adults, very comfortably. It also came in handy when a friend's Sportsman had a tire blow out (unrepairable), because he was able to jump in one of the free seats in the back, and continue. If the cargo bed is full and you are not carrying 4 passengers, there is plenty of room in the back seats/on the floor for a medium-large waterproof storage bin, which is what I do in the winter when hauling my camera gear/drone and other gear along with the typical ice fishing equipment. The benefit there is that it also stays secure without having to strap it down and I can easily check on it or access it from the driver's seat. Point is, it's not wasted space just because it's not in the form of the cargo bed, so keep that in mind. That being said, this Yamaha looks like a great machine also and truthfully I'd say you probably can't go wrong with either. I would not even consider the Honda if your intent is to carry more than 2 passengers more than once or twice.

Or you can just cut a rubber mat to fit perfect with Yamaha seats pushed up. It’ll keep your tracks clean, truck bed clean, and provide a cushion while you’re driving with large rocks moving around. You can take the mat out or find away to roll it up and secure it behind the seats when you have people in the back. The electric company orange mats they use on power lines would work great for that. They are thick, tough, but flimsy enough to store later.

I've always been a Honda fanboy but lately I'm shying away from Honda. At one point Honda was a relevant company back in the 90's but have been surpassed by other manufacturers. I purchased a Pioneer 700-4 (38HP) 3 years ago and for the most part it's a good 'trail' machine. It won't break any high speed records but sometimes I have to road run and that's where the Pioneer falls short. Bogging down on steep hills and it's limiter set to 70kmh. I also have two Ranchers which I am selling because they just don't cut it any more. I was going to buy another Honda ATV, maybe the Rubicon but after looking at the Yamaha Kodiak 700 EPS, I was sold. I pick it up later this week. Sorry, Honda but you have to get with the program and offer MORE HORSEPOWER instead of tossing us breadcrumbs. UPDATE. September 11, 2019. I bought a 2019 Yamaha Kodiak 700 EPS. WOW! What a difference from my Honda Ranchers. Way more power for starters. Fit and finish is better then The Rancher. No rattles or squeaks. And it is smooooooth. No engine vibration. No more bump steer. Overall a fantastic machine. Again, sorry Honda but ya fall short in many ways.
@JohnnyRebKy5 жыл бұрын
Turbo TDI I agree. Been a Honda guy since the 1980s. They were always absolute tanks. But these days I would definitely buy something else. Good choice with the Kodiak! I bought a Polaris 570 a few years ago and it was a complete mechanical mess. Sold it after a year. I should have known better. If I buy again it will definitely be a Grizzly or a Kawasaki. I always rode sport quads so I might like the brute force a little more with its 750 twin. I love the instant rush of power they have. But the moral of the story is things change and we must adapt with the times. I always drove Chevy trucks too until the past 5 years when it seems GM went to hell. I bought a new Ford and never looked back. Honda indeed has a LOT of work to do to catch up. I would love to have a Rubicon but I can’t stand the 45mph Speed limit and lackluster power. It’s ridiculous!! They really need to toss the lawnmower engines. There is no reason Honda can’t make a 500cc that’s just as powerful as a Polaris 500 for example. I hate Polaris but the engine power of their 570 is very impressive

I tested this machine before buying last year.... The storage at the back when in 4 seat mode is next to nothing and the seats and footwells aren’t like the Teryx.... For the price and family comfort I chose the Teryx.... The wolverine is a beauty though no doubt about that.... Love the reviews man! 👍🏼
@GuardianGrove5 жыл бұрын
I did the same. I love my Teryx. I have tracks on it for the winter and can haul a group of 4 adults comfortably towing a sled with everything we need to enjoy a day or weekend of ice fishing. I use it with the fam all year long.
@MassiveOverkill5 жыл бұрын
The X4 has just as much if not more storage than the Teryx4. What many overlook is that you have much more storage between the rear seats. You also have the large arm rest storage that the Teryx doesn't have. This is what I carry with me every day AND that's IN 4 seat mode. www.wolverineforums.com/forum/162-wolverine-x2-x4-general-discussion/26498-yamaha-wolverine-x4-cargo-box-review.html#post279090

Good review ! The object of the 4 seater is to have others ride along with the driver. I guess it is up to the guy with the money to decide how much comfort the passengers have! Your passengers may not go along more than ONE time if it is too uncomfortable! That would be the big factor when buying a passenger vehicle for me........!

You can easily fit a cooler and gas can with 4 people in a Wolverine X4. Super comfortable if you're only considering space. Heat, vibration, noise for 8 hours, I guarantee you the X4 is more comfortable. X4's CVT is way more bulletproof than the Teryx'

Been looking at new japanese machines in this class as its time for a new SXS. I've test ran the X2, and Pioneer 1000 3 seat. I need a dumping bed. Pro's and cons to both but overall probably going to go with the Pioneer. I have no problem with Yamaha's CVT system as they build them very well and they work as they should..I hated that shoulder restraint..lol...bang on it getting in and out and rub on it while riding. I prefer the real diff lock mode over I 4wd, but it would be nice to not have to stop to lock it in and just keep rolling too as long as it works correctly..The Yamaha is a simpler proven design machine but I enjoyed the Honda better...I can't imagine what it would cost to replace a DCT trans if it went bad...probably over 4K, but it is an awesome machine with good top end too for having fun....Yamaha is cheaper as well...still up in the air but its time to upgrade my 2015 Kubota 1120d..Its just a work machine for level ground and not much else..

Come on bro, no specs? Wheelbase, ground clearance, weight, height...what size tires, how big is the fuel tank... I like what you did (glad they added select-able front diff lock) but you didn't add in enough outside of the comfort category to make anyone who is really on the fence about a 4 seater want to pick this over another option. Personally I want to see how the new TalonX 4 seater is going to stack up. This unit seems to REALLY suffer from ground clearance issues offroad on the trails, you didnt highlight this, why? I want to like this unit I just dont think that loaded down with 4 people its going to perform well on anything other then the mildest of trails. Seems like it might also get a little tippy with what seems like a high rear roof line and what looks like a short wheelbase (for a 4 seater). IN-DEPTH needs more DEPTH.
