Mine was Final Bout, but I was never good enough to really enjoy it because I was only 4 at the time that I had it. But when I got Budokai at around 5 or 6 years old that was the DBZ game that I really got into. All 3 of the Budokai games were amazing. Me and my friends still get together and play them lol.

This game was really special to me as a kid as this was the first time I got to see the characters animated and hear their voices since we only ever got the manga over here in Norway. Plus the manga had only gotten to the Saiyan saga at that point, so the cutscenes of the Frieza and Cell stuff blew my mind even though I couldn't read the subtitles.

@eoe123321 Kenji Yamamoto plagiarized an ass load of tunes for DBZ. A lot of us can agree that despite the tunes he made sounding awesome, it was still wrong for him to do that without giving credit or alike. It's one thing to pay tribute but another to pretty much make a copy, change some things and act like it's an original piece for the most part. Also you shouldn't support Yamamoto's work by telling folks that they're being soft about copyright and plagiarism. They have a reason to be upset with the guy and this is it.

The cutscenes are remembered fondly because for American fans, reruns, especially of the sagas covered in this game, were not super common and vhs/dvd could get expensive beyond a few episodes. Having so much of the story was a big deal to people who wanted to catch up and remember the story.

Fun fact: for the original PS2 version of the game, the UK version (and I assume the rest of Europe too) only had the original Japanese voice over. You couldn’t swap to English. It was my introduction to the original voices, and the concept of dub v sub.

Vegeta's stance is called Kibidachi. (I hope I spelled it right) I learned Shotokan Karate, and that Vegeta's stance is very, very close to it. Kibidachi stands for Horse-Riding stance.

You know what I absolutely loved about this game? The alternate timeline cutscenes. Things like Vegeta going Super Sayain at the end of the Sayain Saga. Or Cell going to absorb 18 but accidentally absorbing Krillin instead.

Just binging some of the old videos. I was always disappointed that they didn't play the story mode a second time, because when you beat if, you get to play extra fights. Like Piccolo vs Raditz and things like that. I also always wanted to see Lani and Kaiser riff on the What-if stories in this game. Like, what would their reactions to Cell absorbing Krillin be? Or the goody ass Freeza smile where he's just missing a tooth. It may never happen, but I would like to see them tackle it again just for the reactions to the what-if stuff.

The gameplay of this one was kind of meh...But the story? Holy shit, it's the game that did it the best. They even Yamcha'd Yamcha, he instantly dies against the Saibamens. Even the What-If story are better in Budokai 1 and 3, in here Cell ends up absorbing Krillin, and then kills Yamcha, AGAIN.

Bruce Faulconer's music is the best. If they used his music for dbz kai and got back the original voice actor for kid gohan and kid Goku, then I would watch it. You know, it just occurred to me... They said that Vegeta's Power Level was 18,000 at the Saiyan Saga, right? And going Oozaru gave you a x10 multiplier on your power... That gave him 180,000 as a Power Level. So he could have crushed Zarbon, Cui, even Ginyu. Why did that never occur to anyone?
